Deweekly: February 23th to February 29th

Well, this week sucked. I fell sick on Sunday having only heard two albums on friday so I'll be playing catch up today while I work and list some stuff that could have potential. I'll get on March 1st releases starting Monday I believe, so the new list would be out around that time. I hope you all had a better week than me.
1Borknagar
Fall

Thoughts incoming, maybe even a review if no one else gets on it soon. I'm just glad they didn't bork it.
2Nadine Shah
Filthy Underneath

Mixed feelings about this one, I was hyped but the latter half was not very engaging, have to revisit.
3Monkey3
Welcome to the Machine

Just heard this one on the way to work this morning, nice companion to the Slift album, but way less ambitious. Pink Floyd all over the place.
4Ghost Funk Orchestra
A Trip To The Moon

Listening as I type and this might be my favorite album of the week. Didn't know about this band.
5Traveler (CAN)
Prequel To Madness

Because sometimes all you need to pull you through a hellish week is some good ol' heavy metal.
6Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
of the Last Human Being

First time hearing this band and I was not disappointed. Definitely the legends were true about them being quite special.
7Hand of Kalliach
Corryvreckan

A black metal married couple from Scotland. I mean they're married, not to black metal, but to themselves. Anyway, this is very melodic, very soothing, ethereal, epic, all that.
8And Also The Trees
Mother-of-pearl Moon

Someone (our someone not just any someone) made me listen to this. It's a first so is it too crazy to think it reminds me of Nick Cave? Lovely album though. Love the gloomy mood.
9Amaranthe
The Catalyst

Only heard it once before I got sick and fever has deleted basically every trace of it, so I gotta go back to it before trusting pizza's 4 or I'll throw it on the 3 folder.
10Erika de Casier
Still

And this is the last album I've been able to get on before wrapping up the week. Pretty sweet to close it, given the circumstances. I know there's a shit ton left to check but like they say "you can't have it all".
11Counting Hours
The Wishing Tomb

Here are some other releases that were on my radar that might be good. Muzz's review of this made me check it out, heard two tracks, it was alright, didn't have the stomach to go through it today though.
12Dust Bolt
Sound & Fury

These guys are interesting. The little I heard sounded like some weird metal band from the 90s. Can't really tag them properly.

Edit: I stand corrected, these mfs are catchy as all hell.
13Laetitia Sadier
Rooting For Love

Was curious about this one, but considering I never heard a single Stereolab record, this might be better happening once I get on that first.
14Iron Curtain (ESP)
Savage Dawn

Fellow Spanish metal citizens that emulate Motorhead and speed metal, will hear it eventually.
15Whitelands
Night-Bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day

Shoegazy? Post punkish? only skimmed it, sounded nice.
16Mick Mars
The Other Side of Mars

I'm a huge fan of Motley Crue so this deserved to be heard considering everything that happened recently between him and the band but heard the first track and it just felt so... hollow.
17Morta Skuld
Creation Undone

Wasn't looking very hard into death metal this week, so this looked interesting, but the little I heard was just ok.
18Druadan Forest
Dismal Spells Part II: The Night Circus

I'll wait for garas or Scuro to tell me if this dungeon synth thingy is good or not,
19Stygian Crown
Funeral for a King

More metal, the one with ball clinching highs, dragons and all that sorcery,
20They Came From Visions
The Twilight Robes

Gotta fix this cause it's broken, but I think it was black metal? I remember there was somewhat enticing.

Edit: Fixed
21Meute
Empor

Description says this is marching band meets techno. I'll leave it at that.
22Vermin Fate
Total Nuclear Assault

Don't know if the name is suggesting they're ripping off Nuclear Assault or not, but they thrash and there's a revival and I'll contribute to spread it.
23Russian Red
Volverme a enamorar

Should be an EP, cause it's only 19 minutes but other sites have it as an LP so whatever I added as an LP. Haven't heard anything from her since her debut which I loved but I might give it a cursory check since it's short.
24Defying
Wadera

Polish black metal, which basically speaks for itself.
25Maya Shenfeld
Under The Sun

And some ambient through Thrill Jockey to end the week, why not.
