| JnnnnNot Necessarily New Stuff I'm Getting Into
The w of adventuring into a new record inspired me! | | 1 | | Prince 1999
I was already familiar with 'Around the World in a Day' and 'Purple Rain', but with The Purple One's recent unfortunate passing, I was inspired to try out this record. In short, I don't like it as much as I do previously mentioned, but it has all the hallmarks of a good Prince album: sex, catchy tunes, and commendable musicianship. | | 2 | | Elucid Save Yourself
This is darkest, moodiest, hip-hop record I have ever listened to. Elucid's grim and gritty lyrics and delivery add sense of realism that more animated MC's fail to capture. The only visible flaw this record has is that the mixing and subdued sound of the album makes the instrumentals sound repetitive. | | 3 | | Madvillain Madvillainy
Initially, the songs on this album seemed so short that they left me kept wanting more. However, with repeated listenings it became apparent at how essential to the album's flaw that each song is. It's unique, it's clever, and above all, entertaining. | | 4 | | Melt-Banana Speak Squeak Creak
It's loud. The vocalist sounds twelve years old. It's fantastic. | | 5 | | Herbie Hancock Head Hunters
As I'm only getting into jazz as mucical genre beyond music that high school bands play, my appreciation of this album isn't very deep. I enjoy the record despite this. The playing and variation keeps the long songs interesting and at the front of my mind. I'll definitely delving more into jazz music now that I've heard 'Head Hunters'. | |
