Wildcardbitchesss 08.08.26	I’ve only played the recent ones… but Doom 2016 ahead of Eternal? Different strokes but I feel like Eternal was a step up in pretty much every way. It’s like a puzzle game on fuckin speed, you really gotta be thinking five steps ahead at all times while getting shot at by 20+ enemies. I still haven’t dove into Dark Ages, but I own that along with the season pass or whatever.

Wildcardbitchesss 08.08.26	In a way, I do respect them for making Dark Ages so different… it’s just Eternal was goddamn perfect and I kinda want more of that. But how do you upgrade perfection? Does it make sense that I want more of that shit but still understand and kinda admire them for taking the series in a different direction?
brickhed 08.08.26	putting final doom at 14 and doom 2 at 3 hurts me I love doom 2 but man is it really hit or miss. I feel that final doom has higher highs.
ConcubinaryCode 08.08.26	OG Doom is still fun to play to this day. There really isnt a bad entry in the entire series. Even RoE is pretty fun even though it rips off a ton of its mechanics and the boss fights can be underwhelming. Still gotta play Revelations dlc, TDA is also pretty over-hated imo. Mech fights are legit the only low point in the game because theyre so flat and one note, dragon sequences add a little variety that isnt just something like first person platforming. No Mick Gordon also sucks but that's just Bethesda politics and im not going to hold it against the game.
RVAHC13 08.08.26	I respect the 64 placement, for me though: 1. Doom 2016 2. Doom II 3. Doom 4. Doom 64 5. Doom Eternal 6. Doom 3 7. Doom: Dark Ages Doom is one of my favorite run of games ever, I enjoy pretty much all of them but Dark Ages unfortunately is the one that made me quit video games for the foreseeable future.
FrozenFirebug 08.08.26	truly do not see how TAG2 can be considered better than TAG1 in any universe 1 perfected the base game by making it actually somewhat difficult 2 was straight up easier than the base game + gave you infinite supplies with the hammer on top of that to the point it became pointless + the levels were an empty rushjob dark ages would probably be the best entry if the enemies didn't universally just stand there and take 5 seconds to react, solely by virtue of everything not being solved by running in circles sigil 1 is best classic doom doom 2 of course has the best custom content, both in terms of vanilla mapping and batshit mods in terms of base game i enjoy 64 more than 1 or 2, the enemies are a bit trickier and the shaders are cool
WhiteNoise 08.09.26	Love seeing 2016 above Doom Eternal. It had the better soundtrack, it wasn’t as convoluted combat wise and it had the whole badass vibe. The introduction of lore and shit in Eternal was so cringe. I love it when 2016 starts and they try to explain the “plot” and old mate just smashes the communication device. Still would like to give dark ages a try.

DOOM 64 @ 1 is interesting (in part cos I started it relatively recently - maybe a couple of years ago, but never finished it oops). I'm an eternal DOOM 3 defender. DOOM 2016 was a fantastic reboot, but you can't beat the original classics.
