Ranking Radiohead's Albums (2016)
As the name suggests, I'll be ranking Radiohead's albums from best to worst. Let me know what your thoughts are! |
1 | | Radiohead Kid A
A masterpiece and perhaps my favorite album of all time. While it doesn't have as many classic songs as OK Computer, Kid A is a scenrio where the sum is greater than its parts. When taken as a whole, it is even more powerful than OK Computer. |
2 | | Radiohead OK Computer
Radiohead's most famous masterpiece. It pains me to have to put this second because, as I glance over the tracklisting, every song is incredible. |
3 | | Radiohead In Rainbows
Radiohead's prettiest album. Another masterpiece that could easily be exchanged for OK Computer or Kid A in the top spot. |
4 | | Radiohead A Moon Shaped Pool
The latest album is also the last album among what I would call "Radiohead's Four Masterworks". It's painful, beautiful, and just as good as the band's best work. |
5 | | Radiohead Amnesiac
The demented cousin of Kid A. It's weird, trippy, haunting, and contains some of the band's best music. |
6 | | Radiohead The Bends
A great alternative rock album that some people hail as a Radiohead classic. However, I just don't find their earlier work nearly as interesting as their post- OK Computer material. |
7 | | Radiohead Hail to the Thief
This is a great album at its core. However, the number of filler tracks sets this album behind the rest. Of course, the brilliance of Radiohead is that its lower ranking albums are still excellent. |
8 | | Radiohead The King of Limbs
Ah the weird album. We were told to listen to the rhythm section right? Well, yeah on second thought it's better than I thought it was at first. But find me someone who's favorite Radiohead song is from the King of Limbs. That's not to say there aren't great moments. But come on. |
9 | | Radiohead Pablo Honey
When can we just scratch this album off as a real Radiohead album? It hardly is; and it's a shame because it taints what is otherwise an absolutely flaweless discography. Despite Creep and a couple of other good tracks, this album is only worth listening to for a glimpse of the band's humble origins. |
