| Anime of 2016 Part 2 - Spring
Spring 2016 anime contains some of the Anime of the Year contender, also some Disaster of the Year. | 1 | | Seven Lions Worlds Apart
Boku no Hero Academia
In a world where the children started to develop superpower out of nowhere; it became a normal thing. Izuku Midoriya, our protagonist, doesn't show any signs of having a superpower, despite his dream to be a hero. It sounds childish (it is), but anime contains some good aspect from any typical shounen out there. Recommended if you enjoy shounen genre in general.
Genre: Action, Shounen, Comedy, School, Super Power
7.3/10 | 2 | | the GazettE DIM
Koutesujou no Kabaneri
While we are waiting for Attack on Titan season 2, why don't we watch its clone? It's made by the same studio. Instead of having titan, it has zombies. Other than that, it pretty much a carbon copy of Attack on Titan. The problem with the anime is the disastrous direction. What is this anime trying to show us? All I got is that if you made a clone of something, at least try to make it better in certain aspect, because this anime showed us that if you make a clone but comes worse in any aspect, it's not worth watching at all. It's unsuccessful even as a copy.
Genre: Action, Drama, Fantasy, Horror
1.8/10 - Disaster of the year Pt.I | 3 | | My Chemical Romance The Black Parade
Sakamoto Desu Ga?
BEHOLD OUR LORD SWAGAMOTO. HE IS OUR SAVIOR, THE SAVIOR OF ALL HUMAN. HE COMES WITH ALL THE PERFECTION IN THE WORLD. EVEN WRITING IN ALL CAPS WOULDN'T DESCRIBE HOW AWESOME HE IS. EVERYONE WANTS TO BE LIKE HIM INCLUDING A DILDO. THE FUCKING PERFECT.
Anyway, serious talk. Anime is ok. Like, it's either funny or cringy, depends on the person. It's about how a perfect personality deals with mundane real life problems. Its episodic nature doesn't make it a good anime to binge. But it's amusing nonetheless.
Genre: Comedy, School, Seinen

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu - Highly Recommended
Here we go, the hype of the year. Anime that is loved and popular among many people. It's about our protagonist, Natsuki Subaru, who got summoned to another world when he goes to the convenient store. He accepts his fate straight away; yeah, he did. The main focus of the anime is Subaru ability to return from death into a certain point and his interaction with the heroine, Emilia. So, that's pretty much the story about. It doesn't really tell you what's the story about, it's your own interpretation honestly. Despite of that, this anime has such a gigantic suspense within its plot. It's one hell of a ride. Would recommend this anime.
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Psychological, Thriller
8.2/10 | 5 | | BABYMETAL BABYMETAL
Mayoiga - The Lost Village
Mayoiga is an anime that's intentionally made to bad. So bad, it's hilarious. Except that it's not. It's cringe to the maximum. It's fucking retarded. Well, that's what happen anyway when you put mentally challenged people in the same bus as a group to search for a lost village, and for them to live together in that place. It'll make your brain boils. Anyway, this shit is a disaster. At least Kabaneri has a decent music within the anime.
Genre: Drama, Fantasick, Pathological, Brain Driller
1/10 - Disaster of the year pt.II. | 6 | | BUCK-TICK Yume Miru Uchuu
UCHUU(space) PATROL LULUCO - Recommended
Oh wow, this is a hidden gem of Spring 2016. It's an anime short about how volatile on having a middle school first crush in such a bizarre world. It's Trigger's anime. It's witty, light, and pure fun with only 7 min per episode.
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Space
8.5/10 | 7 | | Envy Abyssal
Joker Game
Life as a spy isn't really depicted well in James Bond's films. Well, at least Joker Game isn't the same as Hollywood films. It shows the actual life of spies in the WWII setting. It has a powerful start and they decided to go full episodic on the anime. It doesn't take the cake for me after episode 3.
Genre: Drama, Historical, Military
6/10 | 8 | | Death The Sound of Perseverance
Anime to mentions:
Kiznaiver - (forced) Drama, Sci-Fi
Bungou Stray Dogs - Action, Drama, Seinen, 2nd season on fall.
Netoge no Yome... - Another SAO clone + ecchi
Flying Witch - Healing Anime, Recommended Watch if you want to relax.
Gyakuten Saiban: Sono "Shinjitsu", Igi Ari! - OBJECTION!! It has a deplorable animation, skip it.
Super Lovers - more like Super Faggots, yeah it's yaoi.
Some great anime continuations:
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai
Magi: Sinbad no Bouken (TV)
Ushio to Tora (TV) 2nd Season | |

10.24.16 | oh
hard disagree on Mayoiga, I loved how absolutely stupid that shit was, and it clearly didn't take itself seriously in the slightest
double disagree on Re:Zero, but I never bothered to watch past its first episode cause I could tell it was pretty solidly in that "not for me, nope" category
my fave from spring was probably Flying Witch personally. Luluco and My Hero Academia were cool too, as was the 2nd season of Concrete Revolutio.
That's all I've got on the matter
how is 7 (the album)? | Aberf
10.24.16 | >double disagree on Re:Zero, but I never bothered to watch past its first episode cause I could tell it was pretty solidly in that "not for me, nope" category
If you expect another SAO, you might be wrong tho. Shit is brutal.
>how is 7 (the album)?
Shit is awesome. Post-rock + Screamo can never be that good honestly. But Envy peaked on 'A Dead Sinking Story' and 'All the Footprints..'. | Aberf
10.24.16 | Mayoiga tried to go serious at the end, It didn't stick to its premise. Even the ending is fucking garbage. That's why it failed so hard for me. | ScuroFantasma
10.24.16 | Cool list. I'm the most casual anime watcher in the world but I'm always interested in this stuff and enjoy the few I've seen. What's a good place to watch anime, since like every anime dvd is hideously overpriced? | ashcrash9
10.24.16 | I guess that depends where you think the "premise" lies; my thoughts on it can be explained way better than I'd ever be able to try with this article, but it's pretty massive so w/e: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2016-07-06/is-the-lost-village-actually-a-comedy/.103621
It's an understandably divisive show, that much is certain.
I've still gotta check A Dead Sinking Story. Footprints is cool. I dig its post-rockier and melodic moments more than the straight hardcore ones personally. | Aberf

Netflix has some good one like AJIN, HxH, Fate Zero, AoT, Little Witch Academia, Madoka Magica, etc. Crunchyroll also takes the cake, but if you want to just casual watch, get some Guest Pass: CP8QEBDXG43.
>It's an understandably divisive show, that much is certain.
Judging by MAL's score, it tells you pretty much it.
A Dead Sinking Story has more post-rock elements to it, you'll probably like it more than Footprint. Not to mention, Insomniac Doze is even more defined as a post-rock. But not as good as the previous one. | ScuroFantasma
10.24.16 | Cool, thanks man | Ovrot
10.24.16 | Mayoiga was the comedy of the year no question | Archelirion
10.24.16 | Swagamoto made my summer tbh, though I disagree on your binging point. I binged HARD on that.
Flying Witch was gorgeous, but iyashi-kei's my favourite so it was always gonna be.
I'll get On Re:Zero at some point... definitely.
| Aberf
10.24.16 | Swagamoto works better as a manga imo. There are a lot of holes that the anime had to close. |
