Can you dig it?

Can you???
1Every Time I Die
Low Teens

List is recent(ish) jams
Just As Real But Not As Brightly Lit contender for grooviest riff in hxc
2The Ocean Collective
Aeolian

The most chugs you'll ever hear outside of dxc
Big heavy
3Culling the Weak
Culling the Weak

Legit the apex of mid-late 2000s mxc
Shredding solos, hella deep growls and laughable prebreakdown lines that are delivered with enough sincerity to still be immensely charming. What a grand era man
4Grand Belial's Key
Judeobeast Assassination

Riffing their way straight into the holocaust
Nazism bad but riffs good.
5Obscure Sphinx
Void Mother

Harrowing post metal with an almost tribal atmosphere? Tbh this might be the most from-the-heart post metal I've heard as every croon, every stark scream and even the broken whispers are delivered with beautiful and frightening conviction. Also the riffs are heffy. Gud shite
6Northlane
Discoveries

Best Northlane easily imo, so subtly intricate and has probably the best moments of glory in modern mxc (I.e the breakdown in Dispossesion or the weird vocal glitch deal in Transcending Dimensions)
7Angra
Rebirth

Vibrant and cheesy Brazilian Power metal with just enough of the countries sounds permeating to make it unique. Also one of the first metal bands I actually got into (prolly 6-7 years ago???). For sure among my first 15
8Avenged Sevenfold
City of Evil

After hearing a discord bud stating the controversial opinion of this being a power metal album ive seen this in a totally different light. This is just fun, winding slightttly mxc influenced power metal with enough hooks and ease of listening to make it onto the radio. Also amongst my first bands ever as 14 y/o me can be seen standing atop scrawny chicken legs with osiris shoes and a incredibly corny A7X t shirt on the daily. I was very cool then.
9Logistic Slaughter
Corrosive Ethics

Gutturals deeper than the goddamn Mariana Trench and guitar work that sounds like Atheist on both uppers and downers. It's o k
10Sylosis
Conclusion of an Age
