CugnoBrasso 05.04.25	@Egarran, it's hard to say. 'Gravity's Rainbow' is widely considered to be his masterpiece (I'm not an original person, it's my favorite book of all time!). It's set during WWII, but it also features Hansel & Gretel, time travel, interdimensional exploration through a toilet, 10 pages about the exctinction of the Dodos and so much more. It's a total clusterfuck of ideas, Pynchon himself can't remember writing some parts of it (legends say he was on LSD), I personally think it's genious but it's not for everyone. His first novel, 'The Crying of Lot 49', is batshit crazy in a similar way as Gravity's Rainbow, but it's much shorter and more manageable, so if you're intrigued by GR's drug-induced madness, maybe start with that. 'Inherent Vice' is another good starting point, it's probably his most sober and straightforward novel, it's still very complex but you usually understand what's going on (PT Anderson's movie adaptation is also very enjoyable). Against the Day is very good but I wouldn't recommend it as an introduction to Pynchon. Haven't read Mason & Dixon yet but I will one day!

CugnoBrasso 05.04.25	Haha my favorite books might scare you off, be careful! Pynchon is a unique author, he writes at the edges of what novels can be. His prose can be impenetrable at times, not always pleasant, but it will leave very good memories. If you can find another person willing to tackle the challenge, I highly recommend you did, because every person finds something different in his books. I haven't read him in years but I used to be somewhat of a fanboy, I'm thrilled there's a new book on the way!

As a result it had a tiny bone sticking out from it's forehead kinda like a mini unicorn horn, that it would rub against you to show affection One of its posts brain damage traits was it would "frizz" your hair with its tongue and teeth. We're staying at Fyn (near Svendborg) for a couple of days, then Ã–land (Sweden), then to the west of VÃ¤nern again, and then back home through Northwestern Jutland, staying a couple of nights near Holstebro. And that happened since we did forget to buy tickets in advance, and the museum was completely booked, so we didn't go in after all....... oops. BUT. We did go in the Vasa Museum which is totally and utterly awesome and I imagine it is easily cooler than the ABBA Museum. Do you know it? It is all centered around a 17 century ship that sank half an hour after its first voyage. Totally well preserved, super ultra awesome.

Trifolium 05.31.25	It was totally worth a visit, would highly recommend. And indeed, the story about its grandeur and demise was the cherry on top. Really cool to see, and many phallic and domination-related metaphors (including caged Polish burly guys, not so much a metaphor there...) indeed, to keep one entertained in multiple ways. Stockholm in general was a nice place, really loved it. So much water and nice green areas, lovely stuff. Also bought books, LagerlÃ¶f, finally reading some of her work.
