A lot of people seem to write this movie off as a try-hard swear fest aimed at edgy teens but I think they're missing the point. The use of swear words isn't used as a crutch for the comedy, it's used to push the movie's message about censorship and how you shouldn't blame the media for your shit parenting. Also all the songs are bops.

A lot of people say this movie is mediocre but I disagree. Yes, the college/university setting is nothing new but it's the characters and creativity with the idea of a monster university that pull this movie through for me.

Yeah, at first all the guys presented seem like massive dickheads and I'm not gonna say they're not (except Edmund who is such a sweetheart) but by the end of the movie you feel all their stress, depression and eventually relief and success. Recommend for any artist of any type.

If I could live in any movie this would probably be it. The movie is hilarious, there isn't a second wasted throughout the entirety of the runtime, it's visually one of the best movies I've ever seen, absolute eye candy. Just overall one of the few movies I can watch over and over. | |
