You had a bunch of "ackshually" folks who couldn't calm down enough to work shit out so they took their ball and went home. I also think having a private discord splintered from the main site was a recipe for disaster. This site wasn't big enough at the time to have so many disparate pieces operating in opposition to each other.

And that’s exactly what happened, one of the ex staff posted a play by play showing the messages between the mods and staff, and even with the selective editing, the staff ended up looking like the problem anyway

I've been curious about this for months now. I came back from a vacation around July 1st and was like "what the fuck?" Part of it is just nosiness, but more of it is like a nurse worrying about a sick patient. And like a nurse I try to figure shit out. It looks a little like rubber-necking for ya'll on the inside, but when it's a battle at the staff-mod level, that's pretty serious. Does the patient just have a sniffle? Or is it plague? I wrote my last review with a phone and it took 8 months, because zero free time and I need to record info and ideas the moment they come to me; I used Collabora Office for completing close to 70% of the final text, and then I moved everything to a desktop wherein I edited a lot and added stuff at the last minute, because the transferred text simply did not have the necessary reading fluidity.

I agree with Hawks' earlier post, though: we can make the best of what is still definitely a good thing here. I don't think I have even written a review in at least 15 years (probably longer tbh). I just come here consistently to find good new music and the site has never failed me. I'm 38 and was just recently diagnosed with early onset dementia. I know my time is limited and I just wanted to throw out how much I have appreciated this site over the years and I wanted to say that while I still have the mental capacity to do so. I hope this site never dies. I would have never discovered some of my favorite bands without it.
