Mort. 03.19.24	i just have a lot of love for this stuff because it was some of the music i first ever got into (alexisonfire specifically) and things deffo got interesting from 2000+ onwards due to stuff like At the drive in & Glassjaw getting popular major label releases. scene sort of bloomed and a lot of interesting bands started cropping up and taking influence from all sorts of other bands (the most obvious being that metalcore and post-hardcore morphed into a weird amorphous blob of breakdowns swoopy fringes and emo lyrics)
Masochist 03.19.24	This list is phenomenal. Man this music was so fun to be a fan of back then! I still am a fan, mind you, but in the years during which this stuff was coming out you had concerts and communities and all sorts of festivals that celebrated this kind of music. With all the bands that were on the come up you were always one sampler cd away from finding your new favorite. And if you were really lucky, at least a few of these stuck with you well past the genre's prime. Case in point: He Is Legend. 'I Am Hollywood' (which I noticed is conspicuously absent from this list) turns 20 this year. I've been a fan of theirs for that long, and of all the literal hundreds of bands I discovered in the 00's, I would have never guessed that they would be one of the ones that stuck the longest. But they keep putting out music and I keep listening.

Demon of the Fall 03.20.24	Great list!... on a quick check I've heard around 40-45 here, with a few more bands I've tentatively dipped into, but not the album listed... hazy memory in some cases should mop up a few more of these, Breather Resist and Saosin have my attention already going through Harlots as you know (debut rules people!)
