Brabiz: The Force Awakens

Brabiz 02.28.16	The only real negative for me was the Rathtar scene. It felt weird.

LepreCon 02.28.16	I would have liked to see something a little more original but only because the movie had literally everything else going for it. The massive box office draw and high critical ratings prove that. Anyone who didn't enjoy it needn't bother watching the other ones later on. Anyone who actually thinks the prequels were better should stick their heads down a toilet and flush it. The movie was great. Nobody bitched about Creed basically being a redux of the first Rocky.

Not extraordinary, but not bad by any means. The hate for this movie is not really justified. Empire Strikes Back is still my favorite
AlexKzillion 02.28.16	I greatly enjoyed the movie, and this new trilogy has a lot of potential because of it. I can also see it going very down hill with the next two, especially if XIII and XIV are just rehashes of Empire and Jedi like Force Awakens kind of was to the original. It may be the worst one, but it was much more different from A New Hope then Force Awakens was in pretty much every aspect. I bet if Phantom Menace ripped off A New Hope the same way Force Awakens did, Phantom Menace would have been a much better movie.
SharkTooth 02.28.16	I don't remember too much about the Phantom Menace, but I remember quite a few things different about it, there was a lot going on about the politics of the galaxy, and the pod racing scene stood out pretty well. Phantom Menace simply introduced too many elements to be called a "rehash" of A New Hope as far as I am concerned

RogueNine 02.28.16	Good movie and I liked it a lot, but the one thing is of course that it retreads Episode IV too closely. I suppose that was to hook a new generation into Star Wars.

SharkTooth 02.28.16	I thought it was bad due to the scenes with Anakin and his wife, the dialogue there was just too awkward and there was just too much of it. Also III was the best of the Prequel trilogy Also Empire Strikes Back was pretty dark, and it's the best SW movie
dbizzles 02.28.16	That's a fair point. I just miss the old trilogies that didn't cater to the entire family. If you liked them, it was because you liked them for what they were not because they made sure there was something for you... if that makes sense.

AlexKzillion 02.28.16	Revenge of the Sith is my favorite movie ever I just dont even give a shit. There's literally nothing I would change about that movie. It's hillarious and emotional at the same time. Actually nah, I wish Anakin and Obi Wan actually had dialogue during their fight like they did in the ROTS game.

Trebor. 02.28.16	Hey let's have the final battle be 45 minutes long and have it take place in a video game even though it could be a 2 minutes long and it would have the same emotional resonance as long as it ends with Obi-Wan defeating Anakin action scenes are supposed to be about the conflict between the characters, but when you don't care about the characters, and the it's just a bunch of CGI crap on the screen for 45 minutes it's easy to get bored
AlexKzillion 02.28.16	Yeah I kind of agree with that, I speed runned the ROTS game on my PS2 last week and throughout the whole fight Obi Wan tries to pursuade Anakin to turn back, which was way more emotional then the movie. Either way, I've read so much prequel EU and have watched both clone wars series so many times that I just feel more connected to Anakin and Obi Wan then I ever was to Luke or Han for example. I wouldn't ever try to defend ROTS but my god I love that movie. Has my favorite SW soundtrack too.

AlexKzillion 02.28.16	Yeah I thought Anikan and Obi Wan vs. Count Dooku in II had tension too since Dooku was clearly stronger then them, but it was kind of ruined by how horribly shot the scene was.

dathvada321 02.28.16	I thought it was pretty weak. Unoriginal plot (this movie was wayyy more similar to A New Hope than The Phantom Menace was; not sure how anyone could argue otherwise), terrible pacing, weak score, poorly handled character development, and an extremely disappointing final act. The acting and action scenes were great, but beyond that I wasn't impressed.

AlexKzillion 02.28.16	'There's absolutely nothing going on between the characters except Dooku is the bad guy and Anikan and Obi Wan are the good guys' Except for the fact that Anakin and Obi Wan would have greatly shortened the Clone Wars (and maybe even stopped them from ever happening) if they defeated Dooku, because the separatist movement would have probably fallen apart since Dooku was it's leader.
