A Gameofmetal birthday/1 year Sputnik anniversary

Technically my birthday was yesterday, I just forgot to make this list as I was quite busy, but better late than never. This occasion is a double celebration, split between my turning 20 years old, and the end of my first year on this lovely website. Truth be told, I technically joined in 2013, but it wasn't until about this time of 2014 that I really started using the site. Lotta good and a bit of bad came with, but I'm not sorry I joined. My writing has improved to a remarkable degree and it's almost impossible to determine how much new and awesome music I've discovered. Even a few friends came along the way, and I'm grateful for all this. List is landmarks and users I've had positive interactions and even friendships with.

As Daylight Dies

My very first review actually came in January 2014. Predictably I got negged mercilessly and got virtually no constructive feedback to help me improve. #justsputnikthings I was so demoralized that I didn't return to sputnik for months. When I finally did, I submitted a much better review, with a positive response, and began doing what all users do. Commenting in band threads and debating whether or not they are "shit". I still maintain that my first review wasn't terrible by any means, but I'm glad I had it deleted and redid it regardless.

Betray - this dude was one of my first sputnik homies. When I was first on the site, I still mostly listened to tons of core music and we shared a remarkably similar taste in it. I still digs the cores but it's true I've branched out a lot.

Explosive Oranges - Lot of things I could say. Chill dude, likes a lot of the same shit I do, great writer that has helped with my own quite a bit, and loves ASOIAF. Nothing more I can ask for.

TalonsOfFire - Same as above pretty much. Just love how much the three of us shoot the shit on Game of Thrones.

JohnnyOnTheSpot - Has probably given me more help with my writing than anyone on the site actually. Haven't interacted much with him outside that sadly. Seems like we aren't in many of the same music scenes but he's pretty cool.

OvDeath - I hesitate to call him a friend, just because we aren't that friendly by any means. He can be hard to get along with at times, but can be pretty cool too and there are few that know extreme metal as well as him it seems. I kinda respect that.

LordePots - Not exactly bffs, but he's pretty cool. Our first couple interactions were rough, but we seem to get along whenever we cross paths these days. I really like the lists he does to highlight unknown artists often.

metalheadrunner - He seems pretty cool, though my interactions with him have been solely writing based mostly. I've done quite a bit of proofreading for him over the months and he's a promising writer.

Artuma - Black metal was an early genre I explored after joining sputnik and this guy seemed to pop up a lot in that regard. Gave me some cool recs back in the day which is always awesome, though I haven't talked to him in a while.

DarkNoctus - Wrote a great review for this that led to me discovering it and turned out to be one of my favorite albums of all time. For that I can't understate my gratitude. Also made a sweet BM record himself.
