Albums 2018 ST Edition

I heard things, I have opinions, read if you care
1George Clanton

Has a similar psychedelic vibe to his previous album (100% Electronica), Def a grower upon repeated listens but I still prefer the original as a cohesive whole. I am glad that George is getting attention for this though(3.5-4)

The boys had to deal with a key member of their group leaving and it definitely shows here, while there are some songs I come back to(New Orleans, Berlin, District, San Marcos), Iridescence lacks the memorability of any of the saturation trilogy.(3)
3Denzel Curry

I've always enjoyed Denzel's stuff, and this no different honestly. last couple tracks push this above his previous stuff(4.5)
4Death Grips
Year of the Snitch

Death Grips/10
The Sciences

AOTY because it's Sleep
6Night Verses
From the Gallery of Sleep

m/(I can't really think of much else to say than it's a fine piece of instrumental metal)
You Won't Get What You Want

whenever I suffer from insomnia, I like to play this at full volume and pummel my ears into submission

incoming tinnitus/10
8The Ocean
Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic

I need to check this band out sometime

I need an instrumental version, on most death metal I can take the vocals just fine but for some reason the way the vocals are mixed here are a turn off for me personally. I can't describe why because I'm not an audiophile
instrumental please/10
Esoteric Malacology

I need to check this band out sometime[2]
Joy as an Act of Resistance

I prefer Brutalism slightly but honestly this is a worthy follow-up
12Zeal and Ardor
Stranger Fruit

I need to check this band out sometime[3]
13Hermit and the Recluse
Orpheus vs. The Sirens

I need to check this band out sometime[4]
