My Personal Favorite Releases Of 2014.
I should probably make something other than a list here soon. |
1 | | Mastodon Once More 'Round the Sun
I REALLY loved The Hunter. I wasn't sure if I was going to be that crazy about this album when I heard High Road, but that song really grew on me and this album is great. I've already seen them twice on this tour cycle, met Brent and Brann, and was even asked to leave one of their afterparties on account of one of my friends being too drunk. |
2 | | Finch Back To Oblivion
I don't know if this album will make it on to anyone else's lists, but I enjoy it. |
3 | | Every Time I Die From Parts Unknown
SO HEAVY AND AWESOME. |
4 | | I Am the Avalanche Wolverines
One of the best shows I've ever been to. They played in a tiny, tiny bar with only like thirty people there, but it was crazy. |
5 | | Taking Back Sunday Happiness Is
Honestly, I was not a fan of this record at first. But it grew on me, and is now one of my favorites by TBS. |
6 | | Cave In The Sacrifice Poles
Even though it was recorded over ten years ago, it was re-released this year. I love anything Cave In does. There's some really cool stuff on here. |
7 | | Circa Survive Descensus
Violent Waves was more than an album to me. It was two whole years of my life. Oddly enough, I never fully understood or "got into" Descensus until I saw what these guys had gone through over the last year or so, and how important this album was to them. Now this is one of my favorite records of all time. |
8 | | Manchester Orchestra Cope
Before this, I had only listened to Andy Hull's side project, Right Away, Great Captain! This album got me into Manchester Orchestra. |
