04.19.12 | now they'll just have to unplug the projector to kill him this time |
SgtPepper
04.19.12 | It's amazing the technology we have these days. It actually looked really cool, though i've personally never been a Tupac fan. a part of me hopes that this becomes a trend and they do it with other artists like Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Ludwig van Beethoven. It would be cool to "see" those people live. |
ThroneOfAgony
04.19.12 | FINALLY! Someone who actually agrees with me. I don't think 2pac would like to see it either. |
Cipieron
04.19.12 | this will turn out to be the new craze like 3D is now... oh god no |
KeithStone582
04.19.12 | For me, It's really disrespectful to the artist. They have been trying to make money off of Tupac for a long time now, but this takes it too far. |
BarkHammer
04.19.12 | Tupac... now in 3D. |
Ovrot
04.19.12 | silly tupac
they've been doing this in japan for like 7 years no |
JWT155
04.19.12 | So it's cool to make million dollar budget movies reincarnating their life on film but having fans see them perform is all of a sudden "wrong"? I think it was done in good spirit and wish I was there to see it. |
KeithStone582
04.19.12 | There's a difference between retelling his life story through film, book or whatever, and pretending that he is actually performing live at a concert after he is dead. |
HitlerIsCool
04.19.12 | guys dead, who cares. |
KeithStone582
04.19.12 | respect the dead. man. |
SgtPepper
04.19.12 | @Keith
I honestly think these holograms are really more of a celebration of his career and music. I mean, the fans were there to see
"him". As I said before, I'm not a Tupac fan but if they ever did that with someone like Jimi Hendrix, someone whose music I
worship, I would be thrilled. I was born in the early 90's so the only thing i have is his records and videos.... but to see a him
actually play the guitar before my eyes.... even if its just a hologram, it would still be amazing. |
LifeAsAChipmunk
04.19.12 | I heard the man was 2-D and not 3-D - technically, that means he's not a hologram. I'm not sure what they would make him, I guess he'd be a projection. I like the over-head projections we had in school...Only he's moving. |
klap
04.19.12 | it was 2D, so not a real hologram technically |
MMX
04.19.12 | Cool technology, disrespectful use of it |
MMX
04.19.12 | Did they pay his mom at all for this? or was it one of those situations to where she was like "Oh ok, sounds cool go ahead and do it" |
MMX
04.19.12 | That's good then, This would have been terrible if the mother let her son's likeness be bought |
DotEight
04.19.12 | Dude, he wrote a BLANK CHECK to the production companies to do this. It cost between $100-200k. And he did it to honor his long-time friend and so millions of fans could see him back again. Doesn't sound disrespectful at all.
Quit being so fucking sensitive. |

04.19.12 | Report: Tupac hologram could go on tour
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2012/04/report-tupac-hologram-could-go-on-tour.html |
h0neybucket
04.19.12 | Dont like it. If one of my parent died and someone bought them back to life as a hologram and they were saying my name and shit, i wouldnt be like 'woah, thats cool'. Id be fucking upset. The past i the past and shouldnt be played with, it could do alot more bad than good, although im sure holographs wont be uncommon for too much longer |
auberginedreams
04.19.12 | i thought it was creepy and exploitative, and i'm not even a big tupac fan. |
crewdreary
04.19.12 | pac's mom agreed under the conditions that money made would be donated to the tupac shakur charity for black youth (or something idr what it was for exactly) |
DotEight
04.19.12 | I mean if his mom is on board with Dre's ideas = Game, Set, Match. No point in even fighting it. |
