InAbsentia
12.06.11 | I'm going to listen to this for two reasons. The first one is that I'm really into this new black metal/shoegaze scene. The second is that I love San Francisco. |
foxblood
12.06.11 | haha cool dude, if you like the scene then i think you'll really like it. let me know what you think |
Gnocchi
12.06.11 | Maybe throw in a link to Hawk's review? |
InAbsentia
12.06.11 | Just click on the album in the list. |
Gnocchi
12.06.11 | Yeah, just thought of that. Folks just ignore the talking ipod. |
Ovrot
12.06.11 | whoa

foxblood
12.06.11 | yep it is, ha thanks |
InAbsentia
12.06.11 | Is it a huge duck in the center of the cover? |
foxblood
12.06.11 | haha no it's a coyote skeleton.
you can see it better on the hi res picture: http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/n593/NamelessCoyote/NamelessCoyoteCover.png |
InAbsentia
12.06.11 | Oh ok. Now I see it.
Weird haha... |

foxblood
12.06.11 | dude thanks so much redsky, i really like your stuff too |
MisterTornado
12.06.11 | Cover Art looks like Tame Impala's Innerspeaker |
foxblood
12.06.11 | woah scream awesome!! thanks
although honestly i was about 80% done with this before i ever even heard alcest.
@redsky no, it's in tahoe. the unaltered picture was taken in the 70's by my mom lol |
Trebor.
12.06.11 | Really shoegazy nice |
InAbsentia
12.06.11 | I love Alcest. |
SCREAM!
12.06.11 | Lol that's weird. It reminded me a lot of the type of stye Alcest plays on Ecaille De Lune |
Athom
12.06.11 | haha close enough. at least i was in the right ball park. i knew it was something i'd seen while up at my grandpa's. seriously though. this owns. i just posted this on my band's page. it's not much but hopefully it gets you some views. |
foxblood
12.06.11 | @redsky yeah close enough lol. thanks dude, that really means a lot. basically no one knows about this project, so any exposure is greatly appreciated |
foxblood
12.06.11 | and thanks Treb |
Ovrot
12.06.11 | Go pimp it on /mu/ |
ITsHxCTOASTER
12.06.11 | Really can't wait to check this out |
Trebor.
12.06.11 | What guitar effects do you use? |
foxblood
12.06.11 | only reverb and mixing techniques. i did a ton of experimenting with feedback and layering guitar tracks, i don't use effects pedals or anything |
Vesper
12.06.11 | So... what's with your fascination with the Canidae family?
Anyway, listening now :] |
foxblood
12.06.11 | i am indeed quite fascinated with canines, there's a story behind both foxes and coyotes. cool, tell me what you think |
Hawks
12.06.11 | Just added you into the database at RYM bro. All the shit just has to get approved. |
foxblood
12.06.11 | oh awesome, thanks. didn't think to do that |
Pentagon
12.06.11 | Nice man. Props for actually going out there and making an album rather than being like me and sitting on my ass all day doing nada. I'll listen to it |
Athom
12.06.11 | get a "band" together so i can play shows with you |
seedofnothing
12.06.11 | "only reverb and mixing techniques. i did a ton of experimenting with feedback and layering guitar tracks, i don't use effects pedals or anything"
Reverb has to be one of the most important effects in BM and conveying emotion. Prolly my fav effect besides distortion. All this talk is giving me blue balls. |
Divine
12.06.11 | I like Untitled, sounds sort of like a modern My Bloody Valentine
|
foxblood
12.06.11 | @pentagon thanks dude, it was a shitload of work
@redsky that'd be pretty awesome, but i really don't know anybody that'd be willing or able to do that |
Trebor.
12.06.11 | Have you tried using the tremolo bar while strumming like My Bloody Valentine?
That shit is bomb |
foxblood
12.06.11 | @treb yeah, basically i just hold the tremelo bar the whole time i play on this record, so everything has a slight bend to it. |
Vesper
12.06.11 | Explain this fascination with foxes and coyotes to me, lol.
Anyway, upon first listen, pretty freaking solid, fox. The bm/shoegaze thing doesn't really appeal to me anymore (mostly because a lot of the acts in it are pretty average, if not awful), but I really enjoyed this and how you're playing around with reverb.
Production is ace, too. |
Divine
12.06.11 | You have to make sure your guitar is in tune, while using the tremolo bar or that shit will bomb in a bad way, Trebor17 |
Hawks
12.06.11 | "Production is ace, too."
Best part about the demo for sure. |
Trebor.
12.06.11 | duh |
foxblood
12.06.11 | @ thevoiceandthesnake yeah, they're a huge influence. my biggest influence for that song was Lilys though
@ seed reverb is the best thing EVER, maybe besides feedback |
foxblood
12.06.11 | @ vesper thanks so much. i know you're not that into this stuff, so it's awesome you like this. the production took me fucking forever, since this album was made on a budget of $0 in my room. as with the canines thing, it's a long story
@ thevoice actually i like to have two guitar tracks that are both slightly out of tune from each other, then the tremelo gives a really great warped effect with some reverb (that's what i did on untitled) |
Hawks
12.06.11 | "the production took me fucking forever, since this album was made on a budget of $0 in my room."
Well you made it sound fantastic, so don't change your ways for your full length lol. |
Athom
12.06.11 | pending approval on it-leaked. |
foxblood
12.06.11 | i literally spent at least a month mixing all the layers of sound on this, typically there around 10 or 15 layers at any given time |
Athom
12.06.11 | and it's up on it-leaked. |
foxblood
12.06.11 | cool dude seriously, thanks for helping me out |
whywontyoudie
12.07.11 | this is pretty fucking cool |
foxblood
12.07.11 | haha thanks man |
SCREAMorphine
12.07.11 | Will definitely be listening to this soon |
foxblood
12.07.11 | awesome, enjoy it |
Trebor.
12.07.11 | You've inspired me to make my own blackgaze post rock music |
foxblood
12.07.11 | dude that'd be swesome, let's do a split |
Trebor.
12.07.11 | If I can figure out how to not suck at mixing, then sure |
foxblood
12.07.11 | i might be able to help with that. it's hard as fuck and takes forever though no matter how you go about it, it gets easier with practice though |
Vesper
12.07.11 | Well, okay, if you don't want to tell me... haha.
Anyway, yeah, the production is really impressive for having done it all on your own with no money. It sounds expensive, haha.
And, theoretically, black metal and shoegaze should have been an awesome combination, but most efforts have seemed uninspired to me, so it's cool to hear something of this caliber, especially from a fellow Sputniker on a budget. :] |
foxblood
12.07.11 | basically "nameless coyote" was inspired by me coming across a wounded coyote in Oregon that someone had shot, up there they're considered pests and people just shoot them if they come on their property. it was pretty fucked up and just died alone laying outside of my dad's cabin. that's what the last track is about
and thanks, if you saw my set up you'd probably lol. it's certainly not expensive. yeah, i think the combination of the genres has a ton of potential, but most bands who do it can't seem to find a good balance, which was one of my goals. anyways, i'm psyched you enjoyed it yeeaahhhhh |
Trebor.
12.07.11 | If I lived in San Francisco I would join your band |
foxblood
12.07.11 | you just gotta move out here then dude. where do you live again? |
Vesper
12.07.11 | That's awful.
Ugh, I hate it when people think of it as animals trespassing on their property, when it's really the people who are living on what was once the animals' territory...
It's helpful to know that's the source of your artist name and that track, though.
Oh, don't worry, I've seen my boyfriend's one-man bm project set-up - I'm sure it's similar, haha.
Anyway, you seem like you're on a good track making this sound work, so keep it up. I'm sure you'll find plenty of support from us, at least. :] |
foxblood
12.07.11 | yeah, and it's sad that coyotes are intelligent animals, it's like killing a dog. but somehow people don't mind since it's not domesticated. shit doesn't make sense
ah has he released any material? thanks a lot, yeah sputnik is being really awesome with this. yeah, someday i'll finish a full length. i've already got a few concepts i want to play around with |
Trebor.
12.07.11 | Pigs are smarter than dogs and they get killed all the time |
foxblood
12.07.11 | yeah that's fucked up too, maybe worse even. but nameless pig doesn't have a ring to it, plus that one guy already made that "one pig" album |
foxblood
12.07.11 | pig themed shoegaze/black metal sounds pretty hilarious though |
Vesper
12.07.11 | I was trying to come up with a name for a pig themed blackgaze outfit, but I think there should be a group called My Bloody Porcupine, lol.
Nah, not yet, although there should be stuff released early next year. He has a bunch of them going on at once, and I need to finish all the logos and artwork for them, lol. |
foxblood
12.07.11 | my bloody porcupine is awesome. treb, name your project that
ah, i'll definitely give his stuff a listen when it's done. yeah i have no logo, i don't know if i really need one though |
Trebor.
12.07.11 | My band will be called Dumbeldore Double Dutched Thru The Double Doors |
InAbsentia
12.07.11 | Ha. My Bloody Porcupine. Prog Shoegaze. |
foxblood
12.07.11 | oh my fucking god trebor that's amazing. DDDTTDD |
Vesper
12.07.11 | Lol, DDDTTDD. Try saying that double-time.
Yeah, I'll definitely link you to his stuff when it's ready.
I don't think a project like Nameless Coyote needs a logo. Seems inappropriate, haha. |
AngelofDeath
12.07.11 | boxflood |

12.07.11 | damn thanks Relinquished |

foxblood
03.27.13 | thanks a lot man, yeah there will be future material for sure don't worry. progress is just slow |
AnimalsAsSummit
03.27.13 | Lovely! |
