10.11.11 | radiohead and they have the most papers on them from our generation so it's the best bet. |

10.11.11 | Bjork |
Masochist
10.11.11 | Of the past decade, almost certainly Nickelback.
...or Radiohead. |
Pharoh
10.11.11 | lil wayne |
Trebor.
10.11.11 | You mean 2000-2009 right? |

10.12.11 | influential in what context? what they've done for music on a massive scale? amount of records sold? how they touch people in the pants? |

elephantREVOLUTION
10.12.11 | skrillex |
whywontyoudie
10.12.11 | easiest to write about is going to be Radiohead obvs. |
Eko
10.12.11 | yeah Radiohead would be really easy to write about in that context. but all 4 of those are valid choices as well. |
omnipanzer
10.12.11 | Of the groups listed Josh is the Most Influential Band Of This Decade.
Otherwise I need more information. Do they simply need to have been active in the last decade, formed int he last decade or popular in the last decade? |
Trebor.
10.12.11 | Who the fuck did Thrice influence? |
eternium
10.12.11 | Honestly I would say Lil' Wayne. You can't deny that he has influenced more people (pop culture in general) than anyone else. Radiohead would be nice and are definitely hugely influential but to a more underground scene (mainly every indie band). |
omnipanzer
10.12.11 | It's only because you are a cocksman. No need to be honored. |
reaganomics777
10.12.11 | Radiohead is one of the most popular acts on the planet dude. |
ShinXetsu
10.12.11 | You could also write about Meshuggah and how they influenced the whole new "Djent" movement going on
now. Not sure if that's your forte though, but it'd be relatively easy to write about. Otherwise,
definitely At The Drive-In off this list. |
Trebor.
10.12.11 | There are so many nickelback clones on the radio so they win
STFU about djent |
DinoX
10.12.11 | I'd say defeater could be a runner |
KeithStone582
10.12.11 | Thanks for the input gentlemen... |
ShinXetsu
10.12.11 | I don't see what's the issue with it when you know, that's what metal bands are doing right now. It's the easiest term to label what they're doing, kinda like a genre. Keep that stupid shit to yourself. |
taxidermist
10.12.11 | At the Drive-In for sure. |
pmmets07
10.12.11 | most certainly not thrice. |
omnipanzer
10.12.11 | "don't turn on me like this"
Not turning... confirming my dear. |

10.12.11 | "Thanks for the input gentlemen..."
Without further info (requested) just gonna say Daft Punk. |
Fortheloveofmusic
10.12.11 | I'm gonna put Jeff Buckley out there even though his only album was released in 1994. I think he's influenced more bands, or at least vocalists, than any other from the past 20 years |
omnipanzer
10.12.11 | um... not from the last decade... Okay. |
Fortheloveofmusic
10.12.11 | Oh I missed that, ignore my comment |

10.12.11 | 'shuggah and Radiohead |

10.12.11 | influential to what? to anything at all? the question is wayy too general. |
iFghtffyrdmns
10.12.11 | haha seriously |
Thanatopsis
10.12.11 | Either At the Drive-In, Meshuggah, or *sigh* Radiohead. |
Titan50
10.12.11 | lol at people saying thrice |
MO
10.12.11 | I'll totally back up Meshuggah. |
AliW1993
10.12.11 | The Strokes, in the UK at least.
Obviously Radiohead havd been really influential but they've not spawned a revival in interest in guitar music like The Strokes did 10 years ago. They're still being copied today.
I'd also mention
Green Day
My Chemical Romance
Arcade Fire
Amy Winehouse
|
Titan50
10.12.11 | What influence has Meshuggah had outside of the metal scene? |
Destructerator
10.12.11 | Radiohead is pretty pretentious. And it's the perfect word for them. |
Destructerator
10.12.11 | They have been influential, though.
Meshuggah definitely, at least in metal. You can't really put a passage of shifty 8-string riffage in your song without someone going "that's Meshuggah, bro."
"Influential on what?" |
PretentiousListener
10.14.11 | MGMT |
