Comatorium.: La Dispute W/ Defeater, Native

Comatorium. 05.24.11	Highlight of the night... clapping hands with Jordan, him holding the mic to my face and tearing through Bury Your Flame with me. Catch them if you ever get the chance. Defeater was just as intense and involved, and Native is a sight to behold.

Comatorium. 05.24.11	Im not even positive on the LD setlist haha, but defeater stuck mostly to lost ground (first 3 tracks for sure, beggin in the slums) and empty days (dear father, warm blood rush, waves crash clouds roll, a few others) and played a couple from travels (blessed burden, prophet, and i think one or two more.)
Comatorium. 05.24.11	Ah, and at the end of Beggin In The Slums, the dude from Touche Amore came on stage and did "Honest Sleep" alongside Defeater's vocalist. TA was playing the next night at the venue.

Winsomniac 05.24.11	Dude, when I saw La Dispute, they played songs off their split with Touche (who played as well, so I heard the whole EP live) and they ended with The Last Lost Continent. Shit was badass.

TomAkaVeto 05.24.11	I've seen La Dispute 3 times and when I saw them a couple weeks ago at the Beat Kitchen with Defeater, they were awesome, but not as good as I have seen them play in the past. Defeater absolutely killed it. I got to yell into the mic during "Dear Father" and that was the one thing I wanted to do that night, but I didn't think I would be able to do. Former Thieves was impressive, especially "First World Blues" and Native was not nearly as good as they were the first time I saw them. They were still decent, but when I saw them play with La Dispute in Grand Rapids, they were much better.
TomAkaVeto 05.24.11	Honestly, one the best shows I've ever seen was when I saw La Dispute play at the VFW in my hometown in Michigan. They played with Victor! Fix The Sun and some other local bands and it was incredible. It was at a VFW, so the show was on the floor and the room was so packed that there was hardly any room for them to play. We pretty much had them tightly packed into a circle without any room to move. We actually picked up Jordan and the crowd passed him around the room while he was screaming. It's one of those things that will never happen again, but I'm glad I was there for it when it did happen.
