ThePalestMexican's Guide To Musics

(Inspired by'll always be Maniac to be baby ='] ) It's tough to say where my music obsession began, but I'll try my best by simply telling it to how it all well....began. Like Maniac I grew up in a very Christian home (this is Texas after all), but I also had a very music loving uncle and friend that could let me escape outside of music that my family would've not been so keen on (and are still not). Here is the tale of a pale mexican, a very pale mexican, and his love for very tan music.
1 Guns N' Roses
Appetite For Destruction

Following my 7th birthday I received a cassette player, but I had no cassettes. My uncle decided to give me this album, and my uncle gave me this. My mom saw it as ok and I played the hell out of it.
2Alice in Chains

My mom actually had this album, and told me it was "alternative". I later figured out what grunge was and realized how wrong that statement was. Still was a sexy album, though I prefer Facelift (probably cause it's a tad darker). It was my first brush with dark material (at least in comparison to the previous album).
3System of a Down

This was my first album purchased. I didn't know I got the nu-metal gem, I just thought "HEY! I LIKE AERIALS! AND I LIKE TOXICITY! =D". A lot of this was too heavy for me, but I soon came around. This was my first jumpage into heavy music, and I sortly went off on the whole nu-metal craze.
Self Destructive Pattern

This album marked a close for my nu-metal craze. I had soon hungered for something that wasn't based on teenage angst. While I still have fond memories of the album, and I still get a good listen out of it. I think I wanted something heavier, crazier, and something meant for more mature audiences. I think I grew up a little in that moment, and then I discovered fapping.
5Fear Factory

I soon discovered Fear Factory and was for a strong part of my life my favorite band. This was always my favorite album, and the ending track "Resurrection" gave me a wet spot in my pants (which wasn't caused by fapping for once).
6Machine Head
Burn My Eyes

Along with Fear Factory there was Machine Head. This album remained a favorite amongst my collection for it's more "raw" feel.
7As Blood Runs Black

In one simple album did one expose me to death metal, and hardcore at once. I didn't know what a breakdown was at this point in time so I wasn't as annoyed with it as much. Listening back I really wonder why I enjoyed it so much, though to be honest "Beneath the Surface" still gets plays from me to this day.
8De La Soul
3 Feet High and Rising

I didn't neccesarily jump into death metal and hardcore at that moment. I needed something more...upbeat in my life at this point, I needed something different and I heard "Me, Myself, and I" somewhere and proceeded to check out De La Soul. I guess this exposed me to hip-hop, and I fell good and hard for it for awhile.
Waste of Mind

This exposed me to punk and ska while keeping with my old tastes for nu-metal. This later led me to other ska, and pop punk bands.
10The Dillinger Escape Plan
Irony is a Dead Scene

Soon after I started craving heavy music again, and I fell in love with Mike Patton. This album exposed me to his music and I became a hard fapping fan of his ever since. (yes I am a fanboy, I realize it, IGNORE ME!!!)
11In Flames

I soon tapped back into ABRB, and THIS is where death metal and hardcore came to fruition. I listened to this album and Comeback Kid's Turn It Around were favorites of these.
12Pig Destroyer

The album that opened my front door to one of my favorite genres grindcore. I feel in love with bands like Nasum, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Fuck the Facts. Well as for the rest....the rest is history.
