08.04.10 | I pretty much agree with the list.....somewhat...I guess. My thing is....I just don't get all the hate people are generating for The Obsidian Conspiracy. And maybe being placed at the very bottom of the list wasn't meant to be seen as "hate". But IMO, this is a damn fine record. It's not the technical orgasm that was This Godless Endeavor or the melodic kick to the stomach Dead Heart was.
I really enjoy TOC. And the more I listen...the more it settles in. It's a grower. |

08.04.10 | The Obsidian Conspiracy isn't a horrible album, but it is definitely a major disappointment. |

08.05.10 | 2,1,6,3,4,5
haven't heard 7 yet, not sure if I'm going to
This Godless Endeavor was awesome, but frankly, six albums of Nevamoar is more than enough, so if the seventh isn't a radical departure from their sound.. |

08.05.10 | i'd switch 2 and 1. |

08.31.10 | thanks Rider |

08.31.10 | Obsidian conspiracy is no way better than Nevermore
What tommorow Knows and Sanity Assasin:2 songs better than the whole Cospiracy album |
Hyperion1001
08.31.10 | The Sanity Assassin is such a stupid name for a track. Honestly, Nevermore and TOC both lack in the lyrical department, where usually Dane is way above average (except for Godmoney, love that song). Nevermore has 2 songs i like, TOC has three, this, better. |
scissorlocked
08.31.10 | I have to agree with you as for the lyrics
But I personally enjoy Nevermore better cause i like the first 3 songs and the way Warrel cries in Hurting Words.Seriously Mr Dane,You used them??
we must not forget the In memory ep which was also great in my opinion |
Hyperion1001
08.31.10 | Yeah, i forgot about that, In Memory was awesome. That and Dreaming Neon Black are the only ones with Tim Calvert right? |
scissorlocked
08.31.10 | yes,and he was an awesome guitarist
he co-written many of the riffs and melodies with Loomis in DNB |
Hyperion1001
08.31.10 | Yup, that's why it was so good. Funny though, Dreaming Neon Black, Politics of Ecstasy, and this Godless Endeavour all were great, yet they had different guitarists influencing each one. That doesn't usually happen. Sadly, even though i love Loomis, the ones where it was just him and Dane writing have been my least favorite. |
scissorlocked
08.31.10 | yea, this can be justified up to a point
as i know for many interviews and stuff, Loomis almost strictly listens to metal in his free time,so the others could have brought some new elements
you can also say that Loomis lets them develop their own ideas, rather than just telling them what to play |
Hyperion1001
08.31.10 | Yeah, but Loomis's shred album was better than TOC, so maybe Dane had more to say in the songwriting than he should have. |
