| Alice In Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue Ranked
I should have done this looong ago. But I didn't. So now that I'm back to it after marathoning Umineko Ep1-6, I will rate it. For great justice. | | 1 | Alice in Chains Private Hell
The most powerful song of the record. Really, one of their best tracks ever. Good stuff. | | 2 | Last of my Kind
Heavy. And awesome. Mainly awesome. And DuVall kicks so much ass in this song it's not even funny. He needs more time to shine. | | 3 | When The Sun Rose Again
Quite Jar of Flies-y, I like that style. Pretty enjoyable. | | 4 | All Secrets Known
Though Them Bones, Grind and Rotten Apple are better openers, this is still pretty damn awesome. | | 5 | Black Gives Way to Blue
'Dis some emotional stuff guys. Matches friggin Nutshell in amounts of emotion. Love this. | | 6 | A Looking in View
When I first heard this song I knew Alice in Chains still had it. Truly, this track is made of pure greatness. Those riffs. | | 7 | Acid Bubble
I like how it keeps changing from that trippy acoustic style to heavy and badass. Quite an enjoyable track. | | 8 | Lesson Learned
Sounds like something out of Degradation Trip (Jerry's solo album, for those who don't know). Degradation Trip is a great album and one of my favorites, so yeah. | | 9 | Your Decision
Powerful. Enjoyable. Though still predictable and nothing that interesting compared to the ones above. But still a great song. | | 10 | Check My Brain
This track is another showing of Jerry making the dissonant sound catchy and awesome. Pretty damn good single of theirs. | | 11 | Take Her Out
The only song I can't say I like of the album. However, I can't say I dislike it. It's just... nothing that interesting. Pretty good, but it reminds me of So Close of the self-titled: The album could still do well without it. | |

i thought this comeback was destined to fail. pleasantly surprised | Rugter32
07.14.10 | I also thought it was gonna fail, but then I listened to Degradation Trip and decided to have faith in Jerry and the guys, expecting a decent album, and they pleasantly surprised me with something that surpassed my expectations. It's no Dirt, though. |
