Discovered Bands/listened To

Bands that I previously knew some songs and started listening to more in this year (7th grade to summer)
1Talking Heads

I found this song "Burning Down the House"- loved it. Then "Psycho Killer" and "And She Was". Never really listened to their other songs. Then I found a mixed cd with 19 Talking Heads songs. Now I really like this band.
2The Beatles

Last year, I really liked "Strawberry Fields Forever" and kew some other Beatles songs. After playing Beatles rockband, I fell in love with the Beatles, and now know about 60 of their songs, and have mixed cd.
3The Shins

I heard "Caring is Creepy" and "New Slang" on the Garden State soundtrack in 3rd grade. Something made me look them up this year. I'm glad I did because I found more of their songs I liked, which caused me to buy Chutes Too Narrow. And then I found out someone in my household owned Oh Inverted World.
4The White Stripes

I partially knew some of their songs because my brother owns White Blood Cells and I knew some of their singles, but I never really "really" liked them. At my library I found their debut album, and checket it out, and really liked it. Now I own Icky Thump.
5Death Cab for Cutie

I was told I would like this band after liking the Shins, but never really liked them. One day while sitting on the toilet, I put on Plans to see if I'de like it. Well I did. Especially after listening to "Soul Meets Body."
6The Cure

-More Straightforward- I found a cd with the Cure's singles from 1987-1997. And recognized some of the songs on it and others I liked that I never knew.
7Weezer

Saw the song "Island in the Sun" on my sister's ipod. Looked it up, I already knew it, but I looked it up. Then I saw "Buddy Holly" on related videos, and liked it a-lot and "Say it Aint So. Then "My Name is Jonas". Then I made a playlist for the whole blue album, and listen to it a-lot.
8Beck
9The Decemberists
10John Lennon (solo)
