Bands With Siqq Guitar
No particular order. Suck it. |
1 | Cynic
Paul Masvidal plays the most gorgeous clean guitar parts, and his solos? Forget about it. |
2 | Woe Of Tyrants
The solos in "Seven Braids Of Sampson" and the 3/4 drop out tremolo picked riff in "Like Jasper And Carnelian" forever changed my life. |
3 | The Black Dahlia Murder
Really only applies to Deflorate. Ryan Knight pillages his fretboard. Also, he wrote the intro to "I Will Return," which (love TBDM or hate 'em) is absolutely awesome. |
4 | Arsis
A Diamond For Disease. Next. |
5 | Opeth
The heavy guitar parts here are good, but the amazing acoustic work and perfectly eerie leads are where the magic is really at. |
6 | Protest The Hero
Luke Hoskin has proved that picks are only necessary like 50% of the time. |
7 | Rodrigo Y Gabriela
A dude playing neo-classical thrash leads + a girl rhythmically beating the crap out of her guitar + acoustic = awesome. |
8 | Darkest Hour
The solos in "The Tides," "Doomsayer," and "Tunguska" are my main points. Even though their lead tone always ends up sounding thin, the complexity and sheer melodic content make up for it in every way. |
9 | The Dillinger Escape Plan
Only on here because Ben Weinman doesn't give a good God damn and it sounds awesome. 43% Burnt is probably my wet dream song. |
10 | Scale The Summit
The intro to "Bloom" and the tapping section of "The Great Plains" is more than enough to put them over the top. Figure in the legit bass guitar work and the jazzy solos, and you have one of the most talented new guitarist out there in Chris Letchford. |
