| Favorite Between The Buried And Me Moments
Another user gave me this idea, but I'm going to be more specific. In honor of me going to see this band live for the very first time on January 24, 2010, the following list are my favorite "moments"of each song from the band's self-titled album. I'm hoping to do one a day leading up to the concert. Wish me luck. Feel free to share your favorite moments from this album. | | 1 | Aspirations
With two minutes left in "Aspirations," Tommy Rogers goes from growling to clean vocals: "There's a better way/ That we have made/ We can all make this change/ there's a better way" (I believe that's how it goes).
Always gives me goosebumps :) | | 2 | More of Myself to Kill
At 1:35, after a grueling breakdown, a soft, melodic part comes and Tommy once again shows off his clean vocals. Makes you feel like you're in the eye of the storm. "Let me, keep these all these tears inside" (please correct me if I'm wrong). | | 3 | Shevanel Cut a Flip
The last six minutes are great! While Tommy sings what should be, but it probably isn't, the band's anthem, or at the very least their signature sing-along moment: "If this world that we are forced to see, if its false and if nothing is true, then make this dream real." | | 4 | Fire for a Dry Mouth
The first 1:15 as Tommy screams, "Your piss is going sour... my mouth is full for the last time" before the song makes you feel like you're falling through a dark hole in an uncontrolled spiral. | | 5 | Arsonist
The first :55 seconds to. I love fast music and this part epitomizes fast music. | | 6 | Use of a Weapon
At the 3:45 mark, there's a sweet guitar solo after what seemed to be a neverending wave of breakdowns. | | 7 | What We Have Become
The first 1:20 as Tommy begins yelling "Is this justifiable, this is life we lead. Blind
stares at what we call humanity." | | 8 | Naked by the Computer
The introduction to "Naked by the Computer" because that sounds like music that should be playing while you're naked by the computer. | |

01.18.10 | Thoughts? | LiquidVelvet
01.18.10 | You should do your favourite moments of all their songs, not just the first album
But I super agree with 1, but my favourite moment in 2 is actually right at the beginning--that weird ear-switching left-right guitar part around 15 seconds in | bloc
01.18.10 | 3 rules | fatlip27
01.18.10 | #3 Does Rule!
Velvet, I'm hoping to create a list of all their songs of all their albums with "The Silent Circus" being next on my to do list (you can probably guess what #1 will be :). I already gave my favorite moments responding to another user's list, but that wasn't as in-depth and I only picked one song from every album.
I listened to that first 15 seconds part. Great catch! Put a smile on my face :D
You know, looking back at all this, I should've probably have written a review instead.... oh well. | fatlip27
01.18.10 | You know what hitman? Now that you mentioned it, I might've read that Goodyear did contribute to some vocals. Slipped my mind I guess.
I'm not surprised at all seeing how Tommy's voice is bad when he screams/growls/shrieks compared to other lead singers of the genre, much less when he does clean vocals (see Colors: Live).
Thanks for the correction! | IRAI
01.18.10 | i forget which song it's in, but i think it's in Aspiration, when it stops and there's that little slap bass for like a second.
i always loved that part. |
