| Jwt155's Albums Of The Year
First list ever and a good one I believe, fantastic year in music. | | 1 | | John Frusciante The Empyrean
Wow, the opening track, Before the Beginning, caught my attention and I never let go. | | 2 | | August Burns Red Constellations
Hailing from my State of Pennsylvania, I've been listening to these guys for a long time and this album I've probably spent more time with then all the others combined. Album is full of great melody, breakdowns, and just an essential Metalcore album to pickup. | | 3 | | Converge Axe to Fall
Just on the heels of ABR, Converge return with yet another fantastic album. | | 4 | | Brand New Daisy
Brand New again show that they follow no formula yet still soar to perfection. | | 5 | | Between the Buried and Me The Great Misdirect
Building off of Colors, fans of that will be pleased while skeptics of the change will still feel the same. | | 6 | | Alice in Chains Black Gives Way to Blue
My favorite Grunge band come out of a near 15 year hiatus without missing a step, DuVall's performance would make Layne proud. | | 7 | | Thrice Beggars
Thrice continue their alt-Rock outings of the Alchemy Index. | | 8 | | The Flaming Lips Embryonic
The Flaming Lips create quite possibly the most atmospheric album of the year. | | 9 | | Hurt Goodbye to the Machine
Hurt's follow up to Vol. II proves costly, losing two members and embracing a new 'lighter' sound but they make up for their losses with this fantastic record. | | 10 | | Mastodon Crack the Skye
The most approachable record to date. | | 11 | | Megadeth Endgame
Megadeth pound out an album truly worthy of being in their catalouge. | | 12 | | Baroness Blue Record
Found this band a few month's ago and what a good find it was. | | 13 | | AFI Crash Love
An album I was skeptical about at first and quickly became one of the most enjoyable of the year. | | 14 | | KiD CuDi Man On The Moon: The End Of Day
One of the most honest Rap/R&B album's to date. | | 15 | | Silversun Pickups Swoon
Great follow up to Carnavas. | | 16 | | Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
My Girls... | | 17 | | Every Time I Die New Junk Aesthetic
Just a well made rock album with catchy hooks and fantastic vocals. | | 18 | | Emery ...In Shallow Seas We Sail
99.9999% of Hardcore bands turn back and never return to form, thankfully Emery does not. | | 19 | | Maylene and the Sons of Disaster III
An album that your Redneck Uncle, who listens to Lynyrd Skynyrd way too much, might like, interested? | | 20 | | Dave Matthews Band Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King
Dave releases his most mainstream rock album to date. | | 21 | | Them Crooked Vultures Them Crooked Vultures
Josh Hommes, Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones. | | 22 | | Manchester Orchestra Mean Everything To Nothing
Another record I thoroughly enjoyed. | | 23 | | Karnivool Sound Awake
While not as good as Themata, a great record none the less. | | 24 | | Rammstein Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da
While I prefer the more industrial sounds of Sehnsucht, Rammstein have created their most digestible and consistent record to date. | | 25 | | Grizzly Bear Veckatimest
My first Grizzly Bear album I listened to and certainly not the last. | |

12.17.09 | solid list, nice to see someone who puts time into these | Phil
12.17.09 | Good list. I prefer I over III though. | JWT155
12.17.09 | Why thank you, I'm relatively new to this site but I really like it. All of these album's were chosen from a few hundred too, iTunes says I have about 1700 songs from just this year so it was quite tedious to get it to this point. I also noticed many people's lists tend to keep to a single genre so I tried to include as many as possible.
A few honorable mentions for me include DevilDriver, The Dead Weather, Green Day, Chevelle, Dead By Sunrise, Oh, Sleeper, Red and the Temper Trap. | JWT155
12.17.09 | I'll agree as well, Rapture and Falls Apart are still my #1 and 2 Hurt songs of all time. | Deviant.
12.17.09 | Looks a lot like my list, good tastes man | JWT155
12.17.09 | @Philly - My bad, for a sec I thought you were referring to Hurt because their albums were numbered like that too. Maylene I is also my favorite as well. | Mordecai.
12.17.09 | "A few honorable mentions for me include DevilDriver, The Dead Weather, Green Day, Chevelle, Dead By Sunrise, Oh, Sleeper, Red and the Temper Trap."

12.17.09 | Your 1 is my 3. The rest won't come close...
Also, you don't need an apostrophe after 'album' | JWT155
12.17.09 | I also forgot to add Isis as an honorable mention. | Phil
12.18.09 | Yeah, I probably should have said. |
