| Where To Start...
I want to get into these (hugely popular) acts that I have ignored for
years. With their catalog being so huge, I need a good starting
point (and avoids) for these two. Thanks guys. | 1 | | The Beatles
| 2 | | David Bowie

09.07.09 | I'll try and be simple but you definitely need a ton, haha.
Bowie - Ziggy Stardust and Hunky Dory are probably your best bets to start with.
The Beatles - Abbey Road is probably the easiest to get into for a new fan especially with some of your ratings. Anything from Rubber Soul and on is honestly completely worth it. The most rewarding after good listens in my opinion (as is all of this post) is the White Album. Rubber Soul is undeniable. Sgt. Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour, some of their more "psychedelic" stuff, are great but maybe not the best starting place although a lot will probably disagree. Once you have and love everything from Rubber Soul and on you can start backtracking in opposite chronological order (if that makes sense) and delve more into their pop years.
Hope this helps man - good luck and have a ball because both are worth the hype! | Chewie

09.07.09 | I started with Sgt Pepper and then got Abbey Road, but you can't really go wrong with either. | Ryanarchy
09.07.09 | My first Beatles album was "Revolver" and my first David Bowie album was "The Man Who Sold The World." But you should start with the Beatle's "Abbey Road" and Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" instead. |
