08.28.26 | Digging the new one so far. Feels more introspective as he's grappling with the death of his mom but there are absolutely lots of bluegrass bangers too. |

08.29.26 | I need to listen to more of his stuff. Only really know him from the Rick Beato interview. Phenomenal player |
AlkemestRedux
08.29.26 | Do it Emim! All his albums are great. I gotta check out some more of his live albums too. |

08.29.26 | Where does one start if they want to give Billy a proper chance? My only experience with him was him playing three sets w String Cheese Incident at Red Rocks back in 2022. Dude has undeniable chops |

08.29.26 | I guess Mimsy asked the same question lmao |

08.31.26 | Hmm I'd say Highway Prayers is probably his most accessible and probably best. If you like more trad bluegrass then his debut is really good. Newest one is a major grower and a lot more introspective and refined. They're all really good though! |

08.31.26 | The Tiny Desk concert is really great too, and only 22 minutes. |
butt.
08.31.26 | Hey, you've got Highway Prayers at the top and that's all that matters. Loving the new album! |
AlkemestRedux
08.31.26 | Yeah buddy! I gave it another listen after doing a discog run and it was pretty apparent hah |

09.11.26 | Only tangentially related but have you heard Sierra Ferrell? Her cover of Years by John Anderson is outstanding |

This performance in particular |

09.11.26 | I've heard some of her stuff and it rules. I'll check out that performance! |
Emim
09.11.26 | One of my favorite covers ever. She's such a great vocalist |

09.29.26 | Ok, I've started with T&T, gonna move on chronologically. For now I'll focus only on studio albums. I'll probably do my own list when I'm done, but maybe I'll just rate the albums. I thought about writing a soundoff to each, but who cares about soundoffs these days... |
AlkemestRedux
09.29.26 | Hey I read soundoffs! I think they're interesting time capsules too. Excited to hear what you think of the discog. |
LouBreed
09.29.26 | What scares me is that after just one listen I already know how I would approach reviewing T&T. But if (IF) I get to it, it'll be no sooner than the end of autumn, again if I still have electricity and the Internet by then. I'm planning to take a break from reviewing at the beginning of next year, but maybe I'll cover some country before that |
AlkemestRedux
09.29.26 | That would be a sweet review, it definitely could use one. I really like the debut honestly, it's a solid mix between trad bluegrass with some hints of where he'd go later. |

09.29.26 | I can already say that I love the virtuosity and the jammy feel the album has. Not a lot prog rock bands can jam this hard |
AlkemestRedux
09.29.26 | Agreed they absolutely rip! I think part of that might be the bluegrass foundation. Jam circles are a blast but also can be pretty demanding, like hearing what kinds of solos the players before you are taking and then adjusting yours to stand out. |
