MARILYN MANSON - RANKED (2026 Edition)
15Marilyn Manson
Born Villain

I like 2-3 songs on here, and that’s in spite of the whole thing sounding like dog shit. Bottom of the barrel fat Manson.

27
14Marilyn Manson
The Golden Age of Grotesque

One of the most irritating albums i can think of. What a waste of his prime years. There are a few great cuts on here, but for everything else, the quirky, pop-driven writing is hard to listen to.

35
13Marilyn Manson
Smells Like Children

Awful, but Sweet Dreams is an all timer.

37
12Marilyn Manson
We Are Chaos

Has not aged well. Good songs on here, but it feels messy.

71
11The Spooky Kids
Lunchboxes & Choklit Cows

Portrait but less tight, and less memorable.

74
10Marilyn Manson
Eat Me, Drink Me

A bit mid, but i love the sound of this one, and the standout tracks are really great.

75
9Marilyn Manson
Heaven Upside Down

Really all over the place, but the goth-leaning tracks rule, and the heavy tracks are admittedly a lot of fun (even if his vocals are subpar)

76
8Marilyn Manson
The High End Of Low

His most underrated venture. Boasts his worst song of all time “WOW” and is waayyyyy too long, but it’s consistently really great and has good performances. The whole first half is a 10/10

7Marilyn Manson
One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1

An album that feels like a true comback. I hate Sacrilegious (i can somewhat tolerate it now, but i still don’t like it) and i feel like the tracklist is a bit messy (compared to Chapter 2) but god, every song here is great, and Manson sounds fantastic.

6Marilyn Manson
Portrait of an American Family

May be a lesser album than Chapter 1, however i just love the sound of this one. I’m sad he retired this style of vocal after Antichrist Superstar, because the lower register sounds nice and has a lot of power behind it. The vocals are less technically impressive than Mechanical Animals and onward, but the energy and vibe is unmatched. There are so many fun cuts on here, with a lot feeling like Alice In Chains from hell, but i think it’s too long and loses steam by the end. A shame some of the cut tracks were left out in favor of those later cuts.

89
5Marilyn Manson
The Pale Emperor

Peak fat manson, where his rough, drunken crooning actually fits the tone of the record. It’s aged and gritty, and quite captivating. One of his most mature and engrossing records.

94
4Marilyn Manson
One Assassination Under God - Chapter 2

Most comparable to High End of Low in sound, but with a well developed atmosphere and flawless structure. This has the best instrumentation of this era easily, with a lot of fun production tricks and memorable guitar leads. His most consistent and enjoyable since Holy Wood, and i felt that immediately. We’re so back.

97
3Marilyn Manson
Mechanical Animals

Sleek and masterful, a highlight of the 90’s for rock music.

97
2Marilyn Manson
Holy Wood

The tightest thing they’ve ever released, has the aggression of Superstar, but the polish of Mechanical Animals, and his vocals are in top form (even if i prefer the unhinged belting on Antichrist Superstar)

99
1Marilyn Manson
Antichrist Superstar

My #9 album of all time. Visceral, disgusting, and the most convincingly dangerous music to ever be released by a mainstream artist.
