DarkSideOfLucca: I saw Evil Dead Burn

DarkSideOfLucca 07.03.26	Damn it, someone see it already.
Aerisavion 07.03.26	I have a huge suspicion that this movie is a stealth prequel to Evil Dead 2013 (the other family at the beginning of the movie), at least in some capacity. Really curious about this one.
DarkSideOfLucca 07.03.26	Can't spoil anything obviously, but I will say that I felt that the red band trailer to Evil Dead Rise gave away all of the "good" bits in a sense. Evil Dead Burn didn't do that, thank God. There's soooo much more in this movie that they left out of the red band trailer, which I was absolutely thrilled about.
Aerisavion 07.03.26	I really didn't care for Rise, so I'm really hoping I love this one a lot more. Glad to hear such a positive early opinion!
Veldin 07.03.26	I missed Rise but I remember thinking the 2013 Evil Dead was hard when I first saw it. Wouldn’t mind seeing this one and maybe checking out Rise too

AlkemestRedux 07.03.26	I actually really liked Rise, thought there were some really great scenes in there but the 2013 reboot is still my favorite. Can't wait to see Burn, even moreso now. Sounds like it's gonna be gnarly! Also fun side fact, the tongue cutting scene in the 2013 movie almost made my friend puke in theaters. It was awesome
DarkSideOfLucca 07.03.26	Yeah rise had some great moments like the bathtub scene and a few others but they just didn’t go far enough with great ideas like the tattoo gun or the cheese grater. I also didn’t love some of the dialogue, and the monster at the end just looked like too much of a mess on screen for me. Also Mia was much more compelling than the lead in Rise imo. I mean it’s my least favorite evil dead but it’s still like a 7/10 for me which is insane for the worst in a horror franchise lol Burn is prob like and 8 or 8.5 out of 10 Honestly I’m fully anticipating Wrath to be the best of these new movies. The fact that it’s a prequel, they’re filming it with like 1970s cameras, some of the actors have already been in some great horror films, coming of age, already having more of a problem with the mpaa, coming of age Literally all of this just sounds like the best thing ever. Already finished filming and we can’t see it til April 2028, ugh

XingKing 07.03.26	Rise is probably the worst in the series for me. 4-5/10ish. So anything better than that is good news to me. I had no idea they were already working on another film and that it was a prequel. Capturing a 70's aesthetic sounds rad. Cautiously optimistic!

DarkSideOfLucca 07.03.26	“WAIT I loved Rise… what does that mean for this?” It’s hard to say cause rise is your favorite and it’s my least favorite so I don’t want to hype you up if we have different tastes aha, but this one is definitely way more mean if that’s your thing - cinematography, sound design etc Is all suuuuper on point

Futures 07.04.26	the reboot and rise are solid and i'm looking forward to the new one. but also i hate that they are more standard horror movies and lost that classic raimi camp and silliness.
Larkinhill 07.04.26	Hell yeah. I’ve heard some really good early buzz. I like the originals, but I’m one of the few who prefers the reboot to the first two. I love Rise also, but that first ED reboot is so fucking good man I’m super hyped for this.
