Divisions
The entire track order is exactly the same as it is on the album, minus 'Faultline' - which has been axed.
Dustin is a massive 'cinematic transition' junkie, and they can bog the albums down a little, losing momentum where it might have otherwise been more beneficial to retain it for the album's overall pacing.
As this album is typically considered the least approved of Starset's records, I wanted to see if a more streamlined runtime might actually benefit the album.
This Spotify Mixed playlist aims to slightly alter the album's structure by trimming back the length of most of the in-between transitions (those that are more than a minute, for example), that usually feature some sci-fi sound effects or the dramatic soundtrack to some space movie you never saw.
Also, as mentioned above, this one is more of an experiment than anything else - I'm not necessarily saying this version is better, and you 100% need to have access to Spotify Mixed in order to listen to it properly. | |
