| Weekly New Metal Release Thread
This thread is intended to be a recurrent space where we can post and comment on new metal releases for the week. I will just edit/update the listed albums and keep this rolling so if you do that classic sput thing of "3 rocks, gotta check 5" it'll be a different record in a few days. Not going to spend a lot of time trying to be comprehensive, I just want a place to discuss in lieu of album reviews so please do shoutout anything in the comments. | | 1 | | Fires in the Distance Circadian Promise | | 2 | | Nuclear Tomb Epoch Inhumane

now this one is straight out of left-field. self-described as "A hybrid of Baroque maximalism, cybergrind, sludge, and darkwave. FFO: Anaal Nathrakh, Atari Teenage Riot, Igorrr, Venetian Snares, Pg 99"
and somehow that is exactly what it sounds like.
they got a guest spot from M. Kawashima of Sigh as well | |

dang this Heavenwood record is surprising me. Hadn't heard of them before but solid track record looks like and the founder just hit the reset button.
really digging the genre blend and strong songwriting. like some parts are gothic/dark tinged 90s doomy death, others like less proggy midtempo Opeth with Mikaelesque growls, carving out proper songs moreso than riffs, prominent drum mix.
