The 13 New Albums, Spring 2026
The special ones for the period from March to May of this year. Gonna do a big listening session when I'm back from a job trip |
| 1 | | Major Parkinson Valesa – Chapter II: Viva the Apocalypse!
I know people are saying it's not as good as the previous one, but even so this is the most important album of this spring personally for me |
| 2 | | Poison the Well Peace In Place
Did a discography run for this one in anticipation of the new record, now it's finally time to hear it. |
| 3 | | The Twilight Sad It's The Long Goodbye
I hope these dudes finally click with me |
| 4 | | Diatom Low Light
An alt. metal band from Poland with proggier tendencies. Almost certainly will review their first album, we'll see about this one |
| 5 | | Corrosion of Conformity Good God / Baad Man
Again, finally did a discography run for these guys, let's see what they gave us this year |
| 6 | | Long Distance Calling The Phantom Void
If it's as good as Eraser, I'm in for a treat |
| 7 | | Crimson Glory Chasing The Hydra
More out of curiosity, did not expect anything new from this band at all. Maaaybe will write a review. |
| 8 | | Crippled Black Phoenix Sceaduhelm
Again, Banefyre was a masterpiece, I'm very curious about the follow-up. I'd like to see this one reviewed, but not review by myself |
| 9 | | At The Gates The Ghost of a Future Dead
More in memory of Tompa, but of all their modern releases I actually only disliked At War with Reality, which was boring. They kept getting better with each release since then. |
| 10 | | Failure Location Lost
Don't really expect anything here, Wild Type Droid flew in one ear out of the other. But somehow I am still interested in this one |
| 11 | | Einar Solberg Vox Occulta
I feel like this one will be much stronger than the first, which I also liked. Again, would be happy to read someone else's thoughts about this one, don't see myself reviewing it. |
| 12 | | The Claypool Lennon Delirium The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy
Love the goofy title and the whole idea of this collaboration |
| 13 | | Armored Saint Emotion Factory Reset
Love these reliable guys.
Honorable mentions: New Idea Society - Fire on the Hill (thanks to ShartHarder for spreading the word about this one)
Neurosis - An Undying Love for a Burning World (still did not give these guys a proper listen, otherwise maybe they would've been on the main list)
A few years ago Devin Townsend would've been on a list like that as well, but unfortunately I've lost my faith in Devy. |
