05.09.26 | surprised dawn remakes so low, while i much prefer the original it's hard to deny the amount of aesthetic influence it had on zombie movies leading up to stuff like walking dead. 28 days later's better but no one was aping danny boyles style lol. 300s also fun frank miller schlock, i'm sure it's probably aged poorly but in 2006 or whatever it was massive. man of steel/watchmen/batman v superman are decent buut i've got gripes with each one, watchmen's probably my favorite of those but i feel like it was too literal of an adaptation: hit's basically all the marks but one of the reasons the comic worked so well is it was built to take advantage and stretch the comic format. in movie form it's just kind of all over the place and none of the drama really lands, still like it more than the v for vendetta adaptation tho. |
