BAT 05.09.26	surprised dawn remakes so low, while i much prefer the original it's hard to deny the amount of aesthetic influence it had on zombie movies leading up to stuff like walking dead. 28 days later's better but no one was aping danny boyles style lol. 300s also fun frank miller schlock, i'm sure it's probably aged poorly but in 2006 or whatever it was massive. man of steel/watchmen/batman v superman are decent buut i've got gripes with each one, watchmen's probably my favorite of those but i feel like it was too literal of an adaptation: hit's basically all the marks but one of the reasons the comic worked so well is it was built to take advantage and stretch the comic format. in movie form it's just kind of all over the place and none of the drama really lands, still like it more than the v for vendetta adaptation tho.

arthropod 05.10.26	I watched the first Rebel Moon and it was genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Up to the gang rape attempt it was bearable, afterwards it was the ultimate concentration of expired cheese.

ScuroFantasma 05.11.26	I’m a Snyder apologist tbh, I like his over-stylized approach but man I’ve lost so much interest lately, are the Rebel Moon movies actually worth a look? They just seem so needlessly long and self-indulgent, and it’s hard not to view that as a combination of streaming services trying to get you to watch for longer, so the film turns into a series without the episodes, and Snyder already having a hard time knowing when to cut anything. Convince me I’m wrong though I’d love to actually expect to enjoy them. Anyway, 300 is also >>>> But I do also really like his DC movies, and DotD is good. Sucker Punch it’s been a minute, I did enjoy it at the time but I have a feeling it wouldn’t hold up.

DarkSideOfLucca 05.11.26	Ugh this director sucks, literally the only thing he has going for him is visual style and even that got old like almost immediately Dawn of the Dead is still his best imo Then Watchmen because it's fun, but it literally misses the entire fucking tone and point of the graphic novel. The satire/commentary went wayyyyy over Zach's head apparently and he just tried to make everything "cool"
