| 1 | | Omnium Gatherum Beyond
Omnium Gatherum’s fully realized sound, a perfect blend of heavy and melody. The new dynamic (pun not intended) landed on in New World Shadows is refined and songcraft evolved and expanded. New Dynamic, Nightwalkers, Formidable and The Unknowing are the best 4 songs in their discography.

| 2 | | Omnium Gatherum The Burning Cold
Simply superior melodies and one of their very best records. Recording not optimum but the songs win through. Claims credit for best OG ever solo in Gods Go First which is a treat. Other highlights Refining Fire, The Fearless Entity and Cold.

| 3 | | Omnium Gatherum Origin
Very easy listening blend of melodeath and progressive rock and the first Omnium Gatherum described as Adult Oriented (Rock) Death Metal (AORDM) as a AOR turn of phrase. And AORDM it is, with a thoroughly engaging suite of songs like Paragon, Reckoning and the peaks Fortitude and Friction.

| 4 | | Omnium Gatherum New World Shadows
A much more atmospheric and melancholic sound is created with these songs. Also more doom and progressive strands. Can even find comparisons with Anathema and the long form progressive aspects of Iron Maiden.
3.9 |
| 5 | | Omnium Gatherum The Redshift
The shift to a new dimension is probably fair. Blows everything previously done out of the water. Interesting and distinctive songs to begin with. Nail, Shadowkey, No Breaking Point, The Return and Shapes and Shades are some of their best songs. There’s also a marked improvement in the quality of the vocals, with a diversity or growls, whispered and clean vocals to suit the cleaner more melodic guitars.
3.8 |
| 6 | | Omnium Gatherum Grey Heavens
First 3 songs are iconic OG but there’s also some really underrated songs like Foundation and The Great Liberation deeper in the list. The band have a special niche where they can’t be mistaken for anyone else which is a huge step towards greatness however this one goes 1 or 2 songs too long.
3.7 |
| 7 | | Omnium Gatherum May the Bridges We Burn Light the Way
The AORDM continues but with less compelling results. First two and last two are excellent however there’s a large middle section that I could take it or leave it. Still a solid album but nothing OG haven’t done before or better.
3.6 |
| 8 | | Omnium Gatherum Stuck Here on Snakes Way
New singer same reverb. Jukka Pelkonen comes in and gives the band a new focal point but instrumentally the band remains based on Swedish death metal however with sprouts of melodicism and progressiveness.
2.9 |
| 9 | | Omnium Gatherum Spirits And August Light
Their original vocalist lends an At The Gates growl to their Gothenburg melodeath-meets-melodic black metal sound. Interesting beginnings. Instrumentation good but vocals devoid of personality and a bit grating.
2.7 |
| 10 | | Omnium Gatherum Years in Waste
Guitars and compositions have potential but generic death metal vocals again wreck this album which leaves it wallowing in mediocrity.
