04.26.26 | This top three plus 13 and 17 could have been my top five if you asked me back in 1995 |

04.26.26 | Dude I fell for those 2 cog albums so hard and every time I play now I’m still inlove. When City dropped it was a huge deal amongst my metalhead mates and saw SYL not long after. There was no bigger band at my high school than FNM and Angel Dust matured my music taste immediately. Also think King for A Day is one of the best albums ever.
Doof for me Metallica perfected fast aggressive interesting metal between 84-86 so take top spot. Demanufacture is immaculate and the epitome of modern metal - even though it’s 30 years old.
Dream that album took me to the dark side. So strange so different so sinister |
DoofDoof
04.27.26 | Muzz, still all incredible albums and all current 5s in my ratings other than Demanufacture which I should at least bump to a 4.5 thinking about it. |

04.27.26 | Doof I didn’t realize u were such a big metal fan in the 90’s! |
DoofDoof
04.27.26 | Yeah, I started moving away from rock and metal totally dominating my listening by ‘97 |
Muzz79
04.27.26 | That’s when I was getting heavily into black metal - but I wasn’t that interested in the beginnings of black metal or death metal. I also disliked nu-metal so largely avoided that and was just looking for black metal and industrial metal around 97-02. A huge change in my listening was Alive or just breathing which I latched on as soon as it dropped and also Arch Enemy and Soilwork stuff.
For me there’s so much variation in metal I don’t need anything else but still listen to the odd non metal every now and again ofc. Classic 80’s and 90’s music I know as well as the next person lol |
DoofDoof
04.27.26 | Yeah, strange to think if I’d stuck to mostly just rock and metal. I’ve got back into metal a lot the last ten years though. |

04.27.26 | Hell. Yes.
Motley Crüe and Alice Cooper |
Feather
04.27.26 | Take to the Skies is crazy out of place here lol
Great Southern Trend Kill (fuck yeah) |
Muzz79
04.28.26 | Love the Crüe and Alice Cooper.
Take to the Skies is a perfect record imo. I nvr took to them as much after that tho.
Great Southern Trendkill was a huge huge album in my teenage years |
