ShartHarder
02.28.26 | was really resisting the urge to post here as i should know better to wade in on politics. but this is def not leading to WW3 lol. it is a shocking turn of events yes, and will lead to a pretty bad time in the middle east (worse than usual) but it will be a contained regional conflict. iran has next to no allies outside its proxy groups, who are all weak right now from other recent conflicts. conflict with iran could either be short (troops lay down their arms now leadership is gone) or drawn out (the whole islamic revolution depends on it) but realistically it is only going to go one way now Trump has fully committed to it. like it or not, the US is super emboldened on moves like this now after the Venezuela operation, and who is going to stop them?
Russia will be looking on painfully at a key ally getting whiped off the board, but they can't/won't do shit about it. they are already stretched this with the ukraine war. and they would not want to rub Trump the wrong while they are successfully courting and playing him. china will stay out of it as it has actually very little presence in the middle east and will want to present itself as the stable, sensible world power in contrast to the US.

I don’t at all think that’s alarmist. People have been saying that im exaggerating or “being alarmist” for a decade now. 1. Abolition of ICE
2. Medicare for all
3. Cutting aid to Israel
All three are popular stances right now, and tbh that’s literally the bare minimum. I’m not asking for full blown luxury gay space communism, these policies are not extreme. But im sure democrats will find a way to ratfuck any candidate that meets the moment, if they fuck over Bernie (twice!) they can and will do it to whatever progressive runs in ‘28. But Mamdani winning does give me hope. No one even knew who he was a year ago and now he’s one of the most famous men in the country. I think something like that could happen on the national stage, though it’s really unlikely.
If Newsom is the dem candidate they will lose and they will deserve it. Plus watching that snake debate Vance over policies that they’re essentially completely aligned with might actually give me a fucking aneurysm |

03.01.26 | Us state workers have been fighting with Newsom for years. I find it hard to believe he'll be the general nominee because he might not even win his own state. Although the way the fucky primaries go California is so late in the schedule it might happen too late like what happened with Bernie |
Wildcardbitchesss
03.01.26 | And despite being a deep blue state I imagine it’s still gerrymandered to hell. I’m with you though. The way some libs and establishment types seem to want to appoint him as the presumptive nominee two full years before a primary has even happened will create resentment for a lot of folks, and despite me knowing how right wing that fuck is, I think interviews with fucking Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk especially will come back to bite him in the ass and really shine a light on how fake the progressive front he puts on is. Like I alluded to with my comments on Mamdani, it’s very possible that someone with little to no national spotlight in early 2026 will come forward. Time will tell.
I’ll admit I didn’t know much about him until around this time last year, when every time the mf tweeted at Trump someone affiliated with like, the Lincoln project or some shit, would pop up and be like “OHHH SHOTS FIRED”, and it took me minutes of googling to see how much of a piece of shit that guy is. Everybody has two full years to come to the same realization. Just plaster that photo of him personally tearing down homeless people’s tents on billboards and attack ads and that will chip away at any support he might have.
Dont get me wrong, if I had to put money on it, I’d say he’s the most likely dem candidate but a whole lot can happen between now and 2028. |

Also, I might be going off on a tangent now, but Christian theology needs a lot of revisionism. And I mostly mean disregarding most of the bullshit that can be found in the Old Testament because that's the text for an entirely different religion and should not be considered by Christians (at least in full). It’s the same thing with Palestine. 10/7 was inevitable, you can’t subject millions of people to that kind of treatment and then be surprised when they retaliate. Fucking 9/11 is another example. 03.02.26 | @doof tho i don't follow brit politics, im sure there's a lot more negotiation involved in these "media assassinations", as u called it. The liberal lie lies in keeping the manipulated masses unstable and paranoid enough so that they can't organize proper resistance but content enough so that they will (mostly) comply to the agenda. Keeping high-profile real assassinations to a minimum used to be the prefered strategy. I fear with Trump/Netanyahu this will become outdated and "too PC". |
DoofDoof
03.02.26 | rabid - in the UK Liz Truss and Dominic Cummings have both lifted the lid and said you can switch political leaders but the civil service and other deep state actors, inc the Bank of England effectively, run the show. It doesn't matter who is the front man, even 'left and right' is largely a meaningless distinction (biggest difference between the two is probably speed of roll out rather than ultimate outcome of policy).
If you try and shrink their influence, reduce the state or change economic policy for example, then they'll just destroy you. They'll fully smear your intellect and 'character'. it's over for you.
There is a plan, a script, it's fed down through loads of think tanks some linked to the UN, or the WEF, the EU, possibly the Fabians - the important thing is the decisions have already been made before it reaches 'government'.
This is why in the UK you now have half the vote going outside the old establishment parties of Labour, Tory, and Lib Dems (basically three flavours of relative centrism and controlled by the forces mentioned above). You now have genuine left wing and right wing parties scooping up votes. Right now you have about seven parties all on 10-15% of the vote, I think this has happened over a lot of the rest of Europe already. Whether this pattern will eventually hit the States I don't know....but I never imagined I'd see this in the usually traditional leaning UK.
It's close to a political revolution but obviously the mechanisms of control are trying to stop it all, and the MSM are obviously downplaying it. |

Biden taught the world that we'll let our allies turn any country into a glassed-over wasteland and we won't even pretend to blink. It's not really surprising that Trump is taking that scorched earth philosophy and applying it to Iran - the biggest humiliation thorn in the neocon's side over the past five decades. It's telling that one of the first targets that got hit was a girl's school. Just pure murder and an exercise of brute power.

03.02.26 | Hey at least we're attacking the right country this time instead of a side show nothing burger like Venezuela. Iran IS legitimately run by a horrible theocratic regime that deserves to be dismantled and they've had mass protests every few years going back to the 80s. Hundreds of thousands of their citizens have died trying to get rid of their gov and they have legitimately been asking for intervention for decades, so I'm more than happy to help them in that regard. Not to mention Iran actually funds the terrorists groups that have actually killed US soldiers and citizens unlike little pissant Venezuela.
That all being said, theres this thing called a track record and ours is fucking atrocious when it comes the middle east, pun intended. I'm not delusional enough to think this is going to be a love fest, theres a high chance Iran splinters into warlordism and chaos without US Boots on the ground and we all know how well having boots on the ground goes. |

03.02.26 | I know the doctrine now is just fracture and destroy countries we oppose, and then occasionally bomb the remnants. It's exactly what Israel has done to Palestinians for decades. But that's really not going to work out for anyone long-term. The only people it works for are the capitalists who can move in to set up shop in the newly destabilized countries, and even then in a few decades they'll probably get tossed out by a new revolution. In the meantime they make a shitload of money and millions of people die or are immiserated.
It feels pretty hollow even typing this as an American, because it's my tax dollars going to fund this, but I don't really know what else to do. Trump didn't even try and justify this war. At least Bush knew he had to sell Iraq. It really feels like post-fascism has fully arrived. The wheels and mechanisms of fascism keep turning but are completely unchained from any public accountability, either from civil society or opposing parties, or even really the judiciary. |

This is a pattern that has occurred throughout Europe.
This isn’t just as a result of islamification it’s the also the ignorance, the genuine racists filling a vacuum and the corruption of councils and local government that have turned things incredibly sour.
I have said this time and time again the ideological hope of everyone coming together and integrating as one unified multi cultural nation that pulls and works in the same direction is a complete myth and is a being used as a tool to impose another ‘dominant’ culture.

zakalwe
03.03.26 | I did move, it doesn’t change anything which is my point.
By ‘gone’ I mean a culture that has been replaced.
The re-education is already being rolled out with suggestions of ‘its always been like that’ people even up-to the age of 30 believe it because they’ve been born into the rapid cultural shift and ideological brainwash. The insistence as well of we’ve always been a nation of ‘migrants’ completely deaf to the fact we were conquered and the peoples of Britain had been here for hundreds of thousands of years. America it ain’t.
The truth is when it comes to London.
70s - Mass majority English. A lot of Irish. Pockets of Asians and West Indians that had migrated in the 50s to rebuild had settled and were residing in individual districts of boroughs and had steadily grown.
80s - Large increases in immigration and entire areas were forming that were distinclty separated from ‘the cultural norm’ this had a wider impact on schools where children fell behind as a result of accommodating those who could not speak English in large numbers.
90s - Expansion and areas predominantly inhabited by ‘minorities’ becoming the majority. Ideological implementation of the ‘multi cultural’ society.
2000s - Mass and rapid increases that inherently spread and entire borough demographics changing within months. This is where it really took off and single completely incompatible cultures began to assert control.
2010s - Continued rapid expansion and open door immigration sees large changes to outer boroughs.
2020s - fish out of water time.
This is the same for great swathes of the country and by the 2060s it will truly be gone and yep I will be dead.
You may not believe it but I genuinely assert some things have changed for the better, immigration to a degree is a good thing. I would genuinely like to fuck some of the White people off out of it rather than some minorities but as a country we are wilfully blind to the fact we have given it away and bad times are ahead and it will be as a result of Islam

Beardog
03.03.26 | I'm just seeing hypercapitalism I don't know what you are smoking in britain lol |
Galbador
03.03.26 | Authoritarian capitalist for sure. Cold war propaganda causes some people to call everything negative socialism or communism. UK is easily one of the most fanatically capitalist countries and second biggest reason(after US ofc) why anybody isn't allowed to form any kind of democartic and more fair economic systems. Remember socialism(social democracy really, there is no socialism) is where state at least provides you something. Where uk is heading is the one where you get nothing. That's just unshackled capitalism. That's where it's always heading and why state intervention is necessary. Capitalism doesn't need denocracy. Most people are brain broken by propaganda advocating for natural (which they obviusly aren't) and fair markets, which have never existed. Markets can be controlled "democraticly" by states or un democraticly by oligarch and corporations. Capitalism is deeply anti market ideology aiming for oligarchy and monopoly. |
AlkemestRedux
03.03.26 | People always love blaming immigrants or their brown neighbors and not the dogshit cunts like Thatcher and Reagan (rest in piss x2) who destroyed or started the process of destroying all the things that helped working people like the NHS and unions. |
DoofDoof
03.03.26 | Galbador - the UK is definitely moving away from a strict capitalist model, moving slowly more towards a China type 'state capitalism' model I would suggest (if you add in state owned SOE's then state spending is 55%+ of GDP spending in China). Nearly 50% of UK GDP is now spent by the state (so close to China really) and it's increasing (US is just 35%).
If you like the idea of more socialism in a 'Western democracy' then you are going to go through this stage we're having in the UK. Is it working? How does it feel on the ground? I think most people would respond negatively but some people like it - I imagine that the people who like the current direction of travel would also say they 'respected' or 'felt protected' during the lockdowns, it's a not insignificant percentage of the populace. Maybe 20%+ of the population want 'more socialism' as they're polling as willing to vote for the Greens or similar.
Personal freedoms do appear to be slowly being restricted in the UK, but as said before there's a kick back. The Fabians (100% socialist) are incredibly powerful in the UK - most of the current cabinet, ex PMs Blair, Brown and the London Mayor Khan are all Fabians. Their stated approach is to slowly turn governance socialist through nearly imperceptible increments, so there are definitely long term socialist plans in the UK and 100% they are now perceptible whichever way you fall politically.
Some commentators would argue 'the Blob' itself is socialist, though it might just be left leaning or centrist. |
anarchistfish
03.04.26 | My bigger concern with London is it's become a shed for all the global richest to park their money as well as the mega finance hub it is.
It's all well and good having access to the biggest networks and economic opportunities but if you're not a rabid careerist it's an expensive, ultra-competitive and punishing city to live in. I think most Londoners my age would agree. Many people I know have had to move out to the surrounding counties or further. Most of the Londoners I meet in SE Asia are fed up with it. Many don't wanna go back. |
anarchistfish
03.04.26 | I don't see what technofeudalism has to do with socialism. It's pretty obviously capital accumulation and monopolisation to me. Once these platforms have such a size their owners then have near-sole power to manipulate and govern the discourse or extract money through rent. Hence "feudalism".
Then on the other hand you have a state that wants access to this power, which co-operates and jousts with the private side, and who regards itself as non-ideological, informed by science and capitalist economics, unitary in its decision making and apathetic to actual politics or dissent. That is technocracy, and a neoliberal one.
|
anarchistfish
03.04.26 | Governments and corporations putting too much stock into AI and using it to manipulate and control us is a worry, but for me the more immediate one is yet another capture of means of technology and production that sees them get EVEN richer whilst shovelling many into unemployment and comparative destitution, including many of the young and middle class who have been blindsided since at least the 2008 crash.
All these problems are happening at the same time and I can only see them as effects of neoliberal ideology, unchecked capitalism and corporate capture of government. |
anarchistfish
03.04.26 | Also, the state expenditures of the UK and China do not function similarly at all. Most of the UK's spending goes on social security and nearly all its major industry is privately owned (and sometimes publically-propped up). The Chinese government controls much of its industry and infrastructure through various state-owned corporations and with central planning is using them to industrialise aggressively. |
DoofDoof
03.04.26 | Maybe ‘socialism for thee, capitalism for me’ - seems to be an elite class who’ll roll out some smothering socialist UBI cage for the plebs.
Unemployment and state handout culture are both exploding in the UK. Only see the two trends going up as AI is rolled out.
Maybe too pessimistic. |
DoofDoof
03.04.26 | I mean all the WEF policies are socialist...but they're also the most shameless group of capitalists on the planet.
That I imagine is the desired dynamic. |
bighubbabuddha
03.04.26 | It depends how intelligent AI gets. If it can automate our jobs we will have to accept benefits. I think there will be a fuzzy middle period where AI can do many tasks in a job but not the cohesive job as a whole, at which point our jobs will be temporarily safe, if augmented. |
Galbador
03.04.26 | State capitalism is just capitalism. UK and US, the messengers of capitalism have always been planned economies for oligarchs. Yes you can call it socialism for the rich - as many leftist do. Most of the hand outs are directed to the rich people(tax cuts, goverment contracts etc). Unemployed people are just a failings of unjust economy. The system needs and creates "losers."Hand outs" are given to keep people from lashing out against the system. Benefits are designed to guard people against inherently unjust and unstable economic system. People in need of these benefits are one groups demonized by right wing liberals and -populists as well as immigrants. They are coming for these benefits as well as the immigrants.
Then seriusly saying UK is going towards socialism is laughable. UK is going towards capitalist oligarchy and technofeudalism like the rest of western world. Blaming socialism is just parroting propaganda aimed at our fathers. This development is precisely capitalist. This is where capitalist elite owning political machine and international organizations leads to. |

03.04.26 | Galbador - I think what you're saying would have made sense a decade or two ago but nearly every marker that trends towards socialism has accelerated massively recently in the UK.
Taxation and state spending, welfare, demonisation of the (outside the club?) wealthy, attempts to bring most wages to a similar banding, more Union power. The only one somewhat missing is a massive trend back towards public ownership (GB Energy is maybe a start?).
The PM and nearly the entire cabinet are Fabians as is the mayor of London. What is the point of that if they aren't going to have a socialist agenda?

03.04.26 | Don't get me wrong I actually think a more socialist future is coming one way or another, and it might be an improvement in some regards, but if you have massive unemployment and/or mostly state run 'non jobs' to keep people busy while receiving effectively a UBI paid as a CBDC...those people are owned to a greater degree than now and also it puts even more pressure on the 'rulers' to not be corrupt or otherwise terrible.
Hopefully there isn't a massive erosion of personal freedoms but all warning lights are flashing I think. |

03.04.26 | Socialism is socialised ownership of production. Not taxation, not social spending, not unions. That is social democracy, which functions within capitalism. UK is not socialist and none of the Fabians worked to bring it about.
Whether China is socialist is much more debatable. Much industry is publically owned but they are highly centralised and authoritarian. They still have strong private enterprise, labour exploitation and capital accumulation. They still co operate with the market system. |
DoofDoof
03.04.26 | I didn't say it is socialist, I said the trending is towards socialism, possibly through necessity. What the Greens are proposing is closer to full socialism, and of course half the Labour party would like to eject Starmer and Reeves and try to move towards that territory.
Say the AI revolution is overstated and it only results in a 25-50%, rather than 90%+, reduction in available work. Even that will necessitate the capitalist model 'as we know it' being broken apart and something replacing it.
A 90%+ reduction in work available then there would have to be a totally new form of economy and governance.
I think both the EU and the UK are quite interested in the way China operates, maybe I'm wrong on that, but there are definitely some hints of that I think. |

03.04.26 | Doof:
Yes that's the fundamental misunderstanding of what socialism means. The wages have been trending down for decades. The wealth inequality is all time high. Tiny minority owns most of everything, including housing. The living standards of masses are declining. Unemployment is high. You are heading to authoritarian capitalist dystopia faster than most. Pretty funny to use term technofeudalism, coined by Yannis Varoufakis to describe exact opposite of its meaning. It means few oligachs owning techno infrasfructure gaining immense power and wealth by taxing everybody. This is the next evolution of capitalism. Private ownership of the means of production. Words have meaning. I imagine you have some extended meaning for the word "capitalist," which can't grasp. These are just simplified economic terms for me. I suggest you use state capitalism as a umbrella term describing change in your political-economical power relations. There is no social ownership of anything to be seen in the future. Just the wealthiest getting wealthier. The power is being concentrated for the elites working outside of the democracy. This is still capitalism, but just simply calling it that is pretty much undescriptive, but at least not as misleading as calling some very limited social policies socialism. |

03.04.26 | Hyperion: They are also celebrating murdering other peoples religious leader. This all is turning me so much more against religions. I though this madness was fading away, but you really can't trust in people who devoit themselves for death cults. Back to stone age we go. Lucily Immo, Marduk and Mayhem cleansed me of abrahams curse just last week. It's easier to take in all these horrors commited in a name of magical beings. |
DoofDoof
03.04.26 | Galbador - I said either socialism or technofeudlaism as directions for the future, as in they are near opposites.
Wealth inequality between the top 1%, or 0.1%, and the rest is at an all time high...but it feels like 70% of the people in the UK now have the exact same take home earnings. I don't know what that policy is if it isn't socialist leaning because it has become pretty explicit now, there's a ceiling. Your take home is about £25k to £35k a year whatever you do.
I guess just capitalism eating the middle class as these old countries in Europe get poor? |
Galbador
03.04.26 | My mistake. That just sounds like the usual justification. "It's either this or comnunism." Instead of something better...? We can't do this but little bit more fair? Okay. With those options it's absolutely technogeudalism. You understand the techno oligarchy should be broken up to get anything else, and how in the earth is that happening in this world? No state exept China is even working on techno infrastructure platforms. So no socialim to be seen, sadly. Different forms of militarized state capitalism directed by technofeudalism. |

03.04.26 | "I guess just capitalism eating the middle class"
Yes
Marx didn't even argue that everyone should earn the same
I don't think it's policy either, so much as the tension between unchecked capital accumulation and min wage rises necessary to account for inflation and the overall income disparity |

well yeah not only are you working under the worst possible administrators but state power has largely been expanded by neocons over the years, who are the next worst possible administrators. that seems obvious. i dont think that means we should neuter potential stewards who would enact like universal healthcare or something. |
Hyperion1001
03.04.26 | yeah, the ruling class has a vested interest in making governmental agencies run as inefficiently as possibly so they can sell the idea of privatization to voters.

03.04.26 | lol far and away the biggest driver in the decrease of fossil fuels is the emergence of electric vehicles, and that is being driven by Tesla and the private sector, not the government |

Hyperion1001
03.05.26 | "that is being driven by Tesla and the private sector, not the government"
you do realize the only reason tesla is as profitable as they are is because the us government subsidized EV's and allowed them to sell carbon credits to other car manufacturers?
and now that theyve taken those away, they have basically ceded EV production and innovation to china, who are taking over the global EV market. |

I avoid anything related to politics like the plague but popping in to put a big fat fucking [2] on this. We’ve been getting brainwashed and divided progressively more and more for a long ass time now and sadly people are too busy picking sides and these past years with the algorithms feeding people a constant echo chamber it’s only getting worse at a rapid pace. Now imagine what that’s like for a generation of dumbass kids whose brains weren’t even close to being fully developed. They spent a whole fkn year locked in their room with a laptop not learning shit. It’s no wonder they’re so goddamn stupid and just plain *weird*. |
