| The 13 new albums for January-February
Finally, it's time for some new music! Now that the 13 most anticipated new albums for the period of January and February have all been released and uploaded to my tiny Ruizu MP3 player, I shall listen to all of them one by one starting this weekend. This list is to highlight some of the lesser known artists who released their albums during this period alongside with the bigger acts like Converge | | 1 | | Jenny on Holiday Quicksand Heart
This is a solo project by Jenny Hollingworth from Let's Eat Grandma | | 2 | | Kreator Krushers of the World | | 3 | | Mika Hyperlove
There's no sense in writing another Converge or Megadeth review of course, but I might cover a couple of albums from this list which wouldn't have had a review otherwise. Like this one. I don't think a lot of people would care to review a Mika album, but I may do it if it's not as boring as the previous one | | 4 | | Big Big Train Woodcut
Of course there are other albums released during this period that I'm curious about, like the new Wilhelm Scream or Cryptic Shift. But these are the ones that I am most eager to hear and from the artists whose music is well-known to me personally. | | 5 | | Karnivool In Verses | | 6 | | Megadeth Megadeth | | 7 | | Wolverine Anomalies
Progressive metal reminiscent of Pain of Salvation | | 8 | | Converge Love Is Not Enough | | 9 | | Sylosis The New Flesh | | 10 | | Stam1na Apnea
Thrash/prog metal from Finland. Hard to categorize actually, but a great band! | | 11 | | Carpenter Brut Leather Temple | | 12 | | Archive Glass Minds | | 13 | | Pil and Bue You Have Chosen Darkness
Avant-garde/prog rock from Norway with focus on being quirky and explorative rather than long-winded and technically proficient | |

02.27.26 | Check Cryptic Shift Overspace & Supertime probably my fav of the year so far
| LouBreed
02.27.26 | Yep, I checked out their first one yesterday, will probably go for the new album this weekend | JoyfulPlatypus
02.27.26 | #1 was surprisingly good, was thinking of doing a write up on it sometime. | LouBreed
02.27.26 | Yes, please! I have yet to hear any of these albums at the moment, and I'd be happy to read your review instead of writing my own. Same goes for any other unreviewed album on this list or any of my previous lists for that matter. | Kimm
02.27.26 | OH SHIT
I forgot Leather Temple was comin out this month m/ | LouBreed
02.27.26 | Happy to remind you! Unlike a lot of people here I liked Leather Terror so there's some excitement about the new one. IDK why everybody is only focused on the Trilogy | Ladron93
02.28.26 | Well, LouBreed. It's funny I haven't listened to Trilogy for a couple of years. It's still an awesome compilation of 3 EPs.
I like Leather Terror (2022) than Leather Teeth, I don't see many people are into it.
As for the new album Leather Temple, I heard it and it's nice. It'll be on my album playlist tomorrow.
There are some songs I like, such as Major Threat, She Rules the Ruins, Neon Requiem that has Miami Vice's Jan Hammer-vibe and The End Complete.
Sadly, I'm not obsessed with Synthwave as I was between 2016-2022.
Jenny Hollingworth from Let's Eat Grandma? Oh okay. I might give it a listen. I like Let's Eat Grandma and that song I Really Want to Stay at Your House. xD
I might give Archive a listen, maybe. | LouBreed
02.28.26 | I don't think anybody is into Synthwave so much these days, I haven't even listen to last year's Perturbator yet. But new Carpenter should be fun | Kimm
02.28.26 | Synthwave def isn't my top genre either but I'm so fkn stoked to see Carpenter Brut with HEALTH in a few weeks m/ | LouBreed
02.28.26 | I've been to Perturbator concert in Kyiv in 2018, but that was before the big war. Never had a chance to go to a Carpenter Brut gig unfortunately |
