Iron Maiden Killers Ranked

Ranking the last Paul album, it def seasons the band enough to start getting that classic Maiden flavor, absolutely Killer album.
11Iron Maiden
Drifter

I swear most of these albums will have me place a track that people worship low, but this track is one I fail to really remember just like one that will rustle jimmies on a later album. The fact that a song this good is my last needs to be accounted for to consider strength of this album.
10The Ides Of March

Setting the stage for album with a new guitarist, Dave and Adrian show why they are some of the all time classics. Fun intro but very much that, an intro.
9Another Life

A lead guitar wonderland, I feel the track underachieves a bit considering how damn fun the guitars are. Repeating verse 3 times is an interesting choice.
8Innocent Exile

Holy bass riff Batman! A generally fun track all around if not comparatively a little underbaked.
7Twilight Zone

Another track not on original pressing, a shame cos it is rock AF. The chorus is one of my favs off the album and the leads have some interesting twists and turns.
6Prodigal Son

To reference my previous album ranking, this track gives me the textural variety that I was missing from Strange World. This track uses its sparse leads wonderfully and the 12 string lushness is a rare sight.
5Genghis Khan

One of the few Maiden Instrumentals and my fav of the album. So damn frentic even the band seem to have a few misread cues but that just adds to the tracks charm. Major plus is the Adrian delay lead near end of track.
4Wrathchild

This is an all time Maiden classic for good reason. Nice to see Adrian leave such a mark on the first real track of his with band. Love the energy of a crowd singing along with this one.
3Purgatory

This might go down as my pick for most underrated Maiden track. The guitar riffs and leads are perfect and the track is fucking thrash levels quick. The Chorus vocals are a joy to sing with and the leads and riffs are like more fulfilling versions of pick for 4th place.
2Murders In The Rue Morgue

This is one of those tracks that just takes me to another time and place. The bass harmonics over the clean arpeggios in the start is atmospheric AF. So much damned energy kinda crazy to think theres more aggresive stuff (like my 3rd place track).
1Killers

This track has it all, killer performances, a perfect commitment to the unique vibe, and a fun concept. The descending harmony riff, the Bouncing Bassline, the solos and vocals all just hit to prove that this is easily the best of the album, and just beneath Phantom for the Paul era IMO
