02.09.26 | Part 8 of a 'sort of' countdown of the Top 1000 bands of my life - in terms of both IMPACT and QUALITY, some more one than the other.
Welcome to the third highest level of doofcore - positions 201-300! All these bands have had some sort of impact on my taste and/or I've listened to a lot...and this is where it gets brutal. Some absolutely massive big beasts in my listening fall just outside the top 200 here.
A good showing by all concerned all the same, no shame in ending up in the top 300... |

02.09.26 | Patrick Bastard Wolf! Christ man.
Will give 47 a go. |

02.09.26 | That Patrick Wolf was a big album in the desert of 2007, he's got quite the flouncy discog and earns his spot.
Again....I quite liked his album from last year :D |

02.09.26 | 47 is very very indie folk, they have a lot of great albums though. One of the best discogs I've run through from scratch the last couple of years.
They're close to 'Christian folk' though ! |
Demon of the Fall
02.09.26 | god this list is giving me palpitations and I’m on mobile & am yet to analyse it properly
Some very obviously great all-time(r) picks here in amongst some other things
At least it’s nearly over 🤭 |

02.09.26 | I assume you were like me Doof and did the alternative club thing in the mid to late 90s
89 and Temple of Love with the old school goths strutting their stuff was an eye opener.
Fucking amazing. |

02.09.26 | More late 90s from '97 on because then London was on my doorstep, lot of metal and alternative bars, used to just stay up in London until first trains. |

02.09.26 | Demon - I tried to be honest weighing in impact as well as inherent quality.
A quality alone list will be 1. too much recency and 2. too much temptation for poseur picks.
Of course I couldn't eliminate either factor entirely, but this is a lot of honesty, warts and all.
I did consider this tier the one to drop a few of the more 'guilty' ones before the top 200, stuff like Ben Folds Five, played a tonne...really didn't want in the Top 200 though ;)
Tool was a tough one to put this low as they were probably my favourite band for a year in 1996!
Maybe the last two tiers will be too obvious and boring consisting of established classic tier artists and established 'doofcore' everyone knows I rep? Not sure. For now embrace the chaos. |
