01.31.26 | A 'sort of' countdown of the Top 1000 bands of my life - in terms of both IMPACT and QUALITY, some more one than the other.
Welcome to the lowest level of doofcore - positions 901-1000! All these bands have had some sort of impact on my taste and/or I've listened to a lot...despite in most cases not really bonding with them to become favourites. Indeed in some cases I grudgingly respect but actively dislike much of their material...yet here they stand.
Important they may be...but the lowest for level of doofcore they remain. |

01.31.26 | Future updates to follow in (yes) a ten part series of lists to entertain/annoy in equal parts no doubt. |
Titan
01.31.26 | lots of greats here man |
DoofDoof
01.31.26 | I don't deny it, but none of these have made that real breakthrough.
Some through not listening to enough yet (Bob Marley, Lee Scratch Perry, Ozzy Osbourne's solo stuff...are three that instantly spring to mind, though definitely artists who've followed me around since my teen years).
Titan, who are most unlucky to be here in the basement? |
Demon of the Fall
01.31.26 | self-indulgent list alert!
dedication tho considering his much easier this is elsewhere
And I did mis-read this at first. 900-1,000 makes much more sense |
Titan
01.31.26 | So out of the picks on this list, i connected with 8 and 21 when i was ~very~ little and still love them to this day. 31 is an absolute masterpiece but you have to be ready for it. |

01.31.26 | 'self-indulgent list alert!'
Guilty, I've done the whole exercise for myself and then it was...do I post it? Thought might trigger some debate or send me to neglected albums. |
Demon of the Fall
01.31.26 | feels weird that other than Converge (expected) I’m mostly wanting to promote Sade here
loved loved loved Muse as a kid so they’d be somewhere for me & I still v much enjoy TMV but I understand why you may not put them any higher |

01.31.26 | Titan - this is artists not albums, but the albums picked are those I'm most familiar with is the idea there.
Pyromania was one of the first cassettes I bought, also got Hysteria, but I've not really returned to DL since about being 12 or 13 years old... and Rebel Yell was always played in the car by my parents but I only really investigated his discog over the last two years.
The Grateful Dead I only know that album really well, the rest of their intimidating discog I've only skimmed the surface. |

01.31.26 | Demon - Sade is a relatively big influence for me, that album was played again in the car by my parents a lot for a couple of years. I've listened to most of her stuff now but she's only just beyond a 'you only need the one album you enjoy the most' deal. She is beyond that though...she made the top 1000 anyway ;) |
Demon of the Fall
01.31.26 | Understandable. I’m mostly intrigued how you will possibly name all 10 tiers 😄 |
DoofDoof
01.31.26 | Four of the tier names make a lot of sense and the rest are a stretch (at present, inspiration might strike....) |
Emim
01.31.26 | Nice to see Cake get some love |

02.01.26 | 'The Grateful Dead I only know that album really well, the rest of their intimidating discog I've only skimmed the surface.'
Please listen to the song, Terrapin Station. I'm curious to know what you think of it. It's 16 minutes long, and if you listen to it, give it a proper listen and not just as background music. The song is a masterpiece. |
Gyromania
02.01.26 | doof |

The Who, Smiths/Morrissey, New Order, Oasis, James, Stone Roses, Maiden.
They all had a massive bearing on me and some still do!
Nice to see Reef.

02.01.26 | Zak - I’m fully aware some people here will conclude Tier 10 of doofcore is the strongest :D
I’ll try and put up Tier 9 later if I’ve got time before the footy. |
