| Albums that I'll probably hear less over time
I don't hate any of these, but over time I may need to revisit them less. | | 1 | | Van Halen 1984
Reason: I remember getting heavily into VH singles as a teen, unfortunately 4 are on here. Jump especially has really worn out on me. I plan on buying this on CD, but yes, I prob would rather hear any of the other Roth albums or at least 3 of the 4 Sammy albums over this. | | 2 | | Rush Moving Pictures
Reason: 3 of the songs on here I've heard over and over as singles. I've also heard the whole thing at least enough times to feel familiar with the other tracks. And yes, I own the CD. | | 3 | | Scorpions Love At First Sting
Not a bad album, but like the previous ones, I got familiar with 4 of the songs before I ever heard it. I prob would rather listen to anything else from Savage Amusement on back (though there's maybe like 3 that I haven't heard or haven't heard enough. | | 4 | | Black Sabbath Master of Reality
The album that made me a Sabbath fan. As I said in my ranking, I only love 4 songs, and I feel familiar enough with them to the point I don't need to hear this that much. And I own the CD.ms | | 5 | | King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
Similar case to MoR. I've heard it at least various times on Tidal, and while I could listen to it again from time to time, it is getting to a point of familiarity. I'll prob end up preferring to hear their later albums, at least up to Red. And I also own the CD. | |

01.07.26 | It's kinda sad when a song or an album you used to adore wears out on you with time. Over the years, I've learned to balance my listening to avoid hearing the same songs too often, but it's gotten harder with the streaming services. It's hard to resist the temptation when YouTubeMusic always has a mix of your favorites ready and waiting. On the other side, I've always liked to listen to whole albums instead of just cherrypicking separate songs or doing playlists, so that helps. | mandan
01.07.26 | Yeah, I only started hearing albums when I was starting adulthood, so by then I was used to singles. It was another couple years or so before hearing albums became a habit.
But yes, we each have our tales. And yes, radio and karaokes can also ruin songs. | RVAHC13
01.07.26 | Never really liked 1, Girl Gone Bad and the closing track kick ass but otherwise it’s my absolute least favorite of all the original lineup albums. Diver Down on the other hand is super underrated imo | pyroflare77
01.07.26 | I haven't come across fatigue, but there are some big favorite albums that I haven't listened to for a long time because of my familiarity. Why spin Rust in Peace when I can conjure any moment I want from it in my head with 90% accuracy? | jrlikestodance
01.07.26 | I can't jam any of Led Zeppelin's hits anymore due to being overplayed. I recognize it's a personal problem but I'm good on those joints | RVAHC13
01.07.26 | I used to love Dead Kennedys until I listened to the point of hating them. Can’t stand them now lol | zakalwe

01.07.26 | The Decemberists used to be my all-time favorite band. I ate up everything they put out until I'll Be Your Girl. Just did not click with me and my attachment to their old stuff started getting more tenuous and now I rarely bother to listen to them. Still love them but they aren't really a part of my music rotation. | RVAHC13
01.08.26 | Another one I used to love a lot more: Gaslight Anthem
Still enjoy Sink or Swim and some of 59 Sound but I’ve really soured on them after the last couple albums | Aids
01.08.26 | I hardly ever listen to the smash breakout hit album "The Better Life" (2000) by American rock band 3 Doors Down anymore
crazy when you think about it | brickhed
01.08.26 | used to love black flag and minor threat, now they do nothing for me. i just don't hear anything that catches me going back to them. still love some early dead kennedys once in a while, too bad that my cassette reissue is garbage |
