Brabiz: Released a black metal album

Brabiz 01.03.26	And there you have it, 7 years of progress and experimentation. Finally those 2019 demos have been properly recorded in my home studio. Mastered by myself on cassette! There is also a limited tape release. It sounds like Esoteric Warfare era Mayhem mixed with Nordland era Bathory. If that sounds interesting to you, I urge you to give it a spin. The recording process only took a little over a month, as I became somewhat of a mad scientist, locked away pouring passion over this work daily, much to the dismay of my girlfriend. The goal was to make the best BM album of the year, and while I can’t speak on its quality, it’s a work that I am infinitely proud of, and I hope it has an impact on someone, because it meant a lot to me, and I have drained my soul into it.

Brabiz 01.03.26	I appreciate that sentiment, it’s taken me up until this year to figure out how to mix music properly. I’ve gone like 13 years not double tracking guitars, and it’s night and day lmfao. I double tracked the guitar, and turned the drums way the fuck up in the mix. Makes everything I’ve released prior sound like actual dogshit, so it’s exciting to hear that feedback lmao.

Beardog 01.05.26	This isn't really my style of black metal but it sounds pretty cool nonetheless. Cannot really get over the polyrhythmic / frantic drums however, they seem to be a bit disjointed from the rest of the music. Agree that the atmosphere here is great.

I’ve already started penning some material, very very raw and dissonant. Kind of a 180 from this. Will certainly be paying closer attention to rhythmic cohesion!
brickhed 01.06.26	not too much clicked with me. i really don't like oversung cleans (ronnie radke vocals as i call them), the drumming is okay (the drum machine feels weak), and the violin is cool but does not do much for me. i respect it but its just not for me. i do like the dungeon synth influences though. i am willing to relisten to it for the lo-fi kvlt cassette rip

I'm not generally a fan of clean vocals in black metal but (my own particularities aside), I can appreciate it nonetheless and I think you have a great voice. 'Yearning For The Glory of What Once Was...' is an easy favorite for me after the first listen. Very impressive m/

Be aware that the cassettes sound like trash garbage, and won’t be a 1:1 translation. In the future I’ll do a legit CD release, but that’s going to be a financial endeavor I don’t want to fuck w rn

Brabiz 01.07.26	Hey thanks man, early Dimmu is actually a really great comparison I didn’t think of. I’m a massive fan of For All Tid, especially since it’s the first BM album I ever listened to. I’m sure a lot of that bled into much of my music over the years. Great album!
