Archgoat Ranked

Love this band. Pretty much everything they do is at least good and they groove so damn hard. There's also rumors of a split and new album, maybe this year? I'm hoping for a U.S. tour too.

Worship the Eternal Darkness

4.7/5

It's a close contest between this and The Luciferian Crown for the top spot, but I think Worship the Eternal Darkness just barely edges it out. The songs on here are so concentrated, diverse and aggressive that it deserves the spot.

The Luciferian Crown

4.5/5

This was my first Archgoat album and it knocked my socks off. It still rips super hard. This was where they really honed in on their modern groove-oriented sound while retaining a chaotic bestial black metal sound. I would say war metal, because they're one of the original bands playing the style, but much like other early war metal bands they completely reject the classification and demand to be called black metal.
3Archgoat
Whore of Bethlehem

4.3/5

A comeback for the ages, and their first proper record. Blisteringly fast (mostly), pummeling and chock full of blasphemy. What more do you want from a black metal band?
4Archgoat
Angelcunt (Tales of Desecration)

4.1/5

I know it's an EP but it's so important to their development, and for war metal, that I had to include it. It's an absolute classic and a banger. A must-listen for sure.
5Archgoat
The Apocalyptic Triumphator

4/5

I know this one has been poo-poo'd a bit on here but I think in hindsight it's still very strong. I think people at the time were reacting to Archgoat really slowing their sound down and mistook it for running out of ideas or copying themselves. But change can be good, and I think this album shows that. It really laid the foundation for their next two phenomenal albums.
6Archgoat
The Light-Devouring Darkness

3.5/5

It's fine. If you like Archgoat you'll like this. There's not a ton to critique other than it's nowhere near as memorable as their other full-lengths.
7Archgoat
All Christianity Ends

3 to 3.5/5

For most of their EPs with the caveat that I haven't heard all of them. I also need to listen to their live album since I'm sure it RIPS HARD BRUH.
