Discog Run: Monster Magnet
Yeaaaaaahaaaa baby. I've jammed the first four albums, especially when the stoner/desert rock itch gets me in early spring, but haven't bothered to listen to much past that. |
| 1 | | Monster Magnet Monster Magnet (EP)
4.1/5
The fuzzy recording production really matches the hazy riffs here. Haven't listened to this EP before but about half the songs found homes on later records. Cool hearing them in their raw form. I can also see why some of the other songs didn't make the cut. |
| 2 | | Monster Magnet Spine of God
4.7/5
Probably my favorite MM album of the ones I've heard. It does everything right even if it's a bit unfocused sometimes, but also, what more do you want from stoner rock? |
| 3 | | Monster Magnet Tab
3.6/5
This was alright. I kinda enjoy a bit more structure I suppose but it wasn't bad. Extremely psychedelic and spacy. So if you like that you'll probably love this. |
| 4 | | Monster Magnet Superjudge
4/5
A somewhat awkward in-between album. It's solid but sandwiched between two seismic records. It's not the spaced out grooves of Spine of God or the more focused rockers of Dopes to Infinity. |
| 5 | | Monster Magnet Dopes to Infinity
4.5/5
A fantastic and polished mix of their straight up stoner material and more rock-oriented tunes. A real banger of an album. |
| 6 | | Monster Magnet Powertrip
4.2/5
Very polished with some real heaters. Haven't heard this one in full in a while so the rating may change. |
