11.13.25 | I get it. They are extremely slow burn. |

11.13.25 | Where’s Bloodline?
1,2,3,4,6,Bloodline,5,10
It’s been so long since I’ve seen the others I don’t know where they would land. Honestly don’t want to revisit them either. I avoided the newer ones for the longest until a year or two ago on Tubi bored one night. Revelations was pretty meh but Judgement kind of surprised me. Also theres a tv series? |

11.13.25 | LMAO I completely forgot to watch that one.
I'll give it a watch soon and then place it on the list. |

11.15.25 | 2 is the best imo, but the first one is definitely a classic.
FUN FACT: Did you know that the dialogue given to the female cenobite in the first film was originally meant for Butterball, but had to be changed due to how limited his prosthetics were? |

11.15.25 | who would know that obviously we didnt know that |

11.15.25 | The first one is my second favorite horror film. Everything after is just kinda meh. The 2022 one was pretty awesome though. |

11.15.25 | 1-3 is correct, god damn I love 3 tho |
Futures
11.15.25 | 3 is so much schlock fun. the cd kill is amazing lol. i also like 4 with how weird and bizarre it is with far in the future space, 1700's france and modern day. i also get a ton of guilty pleasure out of hellworld, so dated with the video game lol. plus lance henrickson and young sleazy henry cavill. i'd go
great movies- 1, 2
enjoyable movies- 3, 4, remake
stupid fun- hellworld
kind of ok- inferno, judgement
pretty bad- hellseeker, deader
really bad- revelations |

11.15.25 | been on a big Barker kick recently and just read Hellbound Heart the other day. really good read but one of the rare cases where all the changes made for the movie completely improved it
still think 2 is the best in the franchise though, Leviathan is such a crazy fucking concept to try and realise on almost no budget. I love the dude who gets transformed into a Cenobite and immediately starts floating around and making terrible doctor puns. iconic shit |
cycosynner
11.15.25 | 2. is indeed the best of the franchise |

11.15.25 | Saw Hellraiser Bloodlines yesterday. Added it to the list. |

11.15.25 | 1 is up there with the best horror films of all time. i was stunned at how bad the rest are. |

11.15.25 | I'm trying my best to stop confusing "Hellraiser" with "Helltaker". |

11.15.25 | First one is definitely one of the best horror movies ever agreed. |

11.16.25 | "been on a big Barker kick recently and just read Hellbound Heart the other day. really good read but one of the rare cases where all the changes made for the movie completely improved it"
dead on row. been a couple years since i read it myself, but that's exactly what was going through my head when i was reading it.
weird this has come up as i was watching a retrospective on the series a couple days ago for the lols. for me, 1 and 2 are the only ones worth taking seriously. 3 is pure schlock. i remember 4 having potential, but was in production hell, and i never bothered with the other ones because they looked terrible. however, i decided to watch hellworld last night for fun and it's not outright trash. you can tell, like house 3, it wasn't meant to be a hellraiser film, but if it was called something else, it's a watchable, throwaway film. |

11.16.25 | You should really check out Judgment Gonzo. The director had like 0 budget, so he said fuck it and made his own take on the franchise and it had some BOLD ideas. |

11.16.25 | Kirsty not being their daughter (in law) but instead just a random friend of the family is the most jarring difference in the novella, feels so weird |
