| Review queue for the future and a request
I've decided to get my shit together and start reviewing more regularly, so this list is more for my personal convenience than for the general public. These are some albums that I'm planning to review in the foreseeable future (not necessarily in the order that they are listed here). On the other hand, if any of you feels like reviewing any of the items on the list - please go for it!
On yet another hand, I have a request for you. After the "Review a Random Album Challenge" for 2024 was over, quite a few albums on that list remained unreviewed. It seems unfair to me, so I wanted to do some write ups for them. But the original list seems to be gone. And, of course, I don't remember what actually was on it. So, if any of you suggested an album for a review last year, but the guy to whom it was assigned never did it, please write the name of the album and the artist in the comments here. The same request goes to those who just remember which albums were there and did not get a review. That is, if you think that I am fit to the task of reviewing them (you can check my other reviews and see if my style works for you). | | 1 | | Scars on Broadway Addicted to the Violence
I am pleasantly surprised by this. Wasn't sure if I even want to listen, but it turned out to be good | | 2 | | Peter Murphy Silver Shade
This album wasn't even in the database until I added it today, although I remember it being featured in the respective Weekly Releases list. I guess nobody cares about the Godfather of Goth now that he's just an old sufi. Ideally, I would gradually cover his whole discography, but that may be too much. Anyway, the new album is good, at least check out the title track if you don't feel like going through the whole thing! | | 3 | | Palindrom Про Сьогодні, Завт
I try not to be overzealous with promoting Ukrainian music here, but I feel like this guy deserves some attention. It would have been better if you understood his lyrics which are mostly great, but the music should still work. I would very much like to have an outside opinion on any of his albums, but I could also review them myself. Ideally, I will cover his whole discography, except for this year's album, which I'm planning to save for the next year's "Review a Random Album" game | | 4 | | Palindrom Стіни Мають Вуха
While I'm at it, I really don't like the current genre tags on this guy's page. Palindrom is an independent rap artist. He's not Black Metal at all, the closest he comes to it are the occasional harsh vocals (which are more frequent on his recent albums, but still). And the Alternative Rock tag also seems misplaced (although more fitting for his latest releases, but not quite there). | | 5 | | Bioscope Gentō
This is a side project by Steve Rothery of Marillion and Thorsten Quaeschning of Tangerine Dream with Alex Reeves of Elbow. Don't know if I'll actually have the guts to review an instrumental prog album, but we'll see | | 6 | | Justin Bieber Swag II
The mighty Justinian Bieberious, the emperor of everything and inventor of music, rivaled only by Jaden Smith (aka Jaden Sith / Darth Jaden) graced us with two Swags this year! What a time to be alive.
I'm joking, of course. I'm not going to review it. I am very obviously not worthy. | | 7 | | Demons and Wizards Demons & Wizards
Surprised this doesn't have a review! It's actually their best and the most consistent album. The other two are also great, but rather uneven and have some filler in them. | |
