AC/DC Ranked
Band that's (in)famous for doing the same shit over and over again. I wish they had stayed consistent though to the Bon Scott era at least...The top half are pedestrian opinions but I imagine my lesser favs aren't the exact consensus. |
| 1 | | AC/DC Highway To Hell
One of the all-time great classic rock albums. Entire first half is perfection and even the "weak" points in second half are still fun af. RIP Bon Scott at least you went out on a masterpiece. |
| 2 | | AC/DC Back In Black
I remember listening to this one all the time in my dads car. Great album with good structure. The Hell's Bells Intro all the way to closer is just a trip. Shoot the Thrill is a personal AC/DC fav. |
| 3 | | AC/DC Let There Be Rock
Let There Be Rock is a cool af concept of a song that shows these guys could at least learn some newish tricks. I wish album stayed fully consistent but the highlights are very good. |
| 4 | | AC/DC The Razors Edge
Yes the Thunderstruck intro is equal parts iconic and annoying but overall album is very consistent for rating as my second fave Brian Johnson album. Moneytalks is too catchy to be denied. |
| 5 | | AC/DC High Voltage
Pretty dang good debut (even if its the American version). To have 2 all timers on debut would count for a lot more if rest of album wasn't so hot-n-cold quality-wise (Then again not all debuts can be as perfect as Boston's) |
| 6 | | AC/DC Powerage
Kinda lacks the all time known tracks but I would consider this the "hidden gem" album. Similar consistency issues as the surrounding albums but damn do I love Riff Raff. |
| 7 | | AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
IDGAF how old I get Big Balls will always make me smile. Title track is very undeniable as well. Second half leaves a lot to be desired though. |
| 8 | | AC/DC Power Up
Biggest surprise from band in decades. Many tracks feel like they are trying for more than the plain standard and I have to tip my hat to the effort. |
| 9 | | AC/DC Black Ice
I remember this being so big, the "return of the kings". kinda crazy it was only an 8 year wait (Chinese Democracy anyone?). Way too many tracks make it somewhat a letdown despite a number of good showings. |
| 10 | | AC/DC For Those About To Rock We Salute You
Looking back, damn do I REALLY dislike the 80's-90's AC/DC output. I can't believe an album this "Iconic" is so mediocre. Absolutely killed any momentum after previous masterpieces. |
| 11 | | AC/DC Blow Up Your Video
Maybe it benefits from being way better than the preceding album despite being mediocre but at least it was enjoyable as background highway cruising music. Not too much worth remembering though. |
| 12 | | AC/DC Flick Of The Switch
I feel like this is the one that bewilders me the most seeing how many people really like this album. Probably the last of the mediocre albums before I'd call the rest straight up bad at best. |
| 13 | | AC/DC Ballbreaker
If you have been reading you'll notice me adding less and less detail. That is because these albums are just becoming less and less memorable. Can hardly remember any of these songs besides Honey Roll for some reason. |
| 14 | | AC/DC Stiff Upper Lip
I do remember this one actively frustrating me with song ideas that could have gone somewhere being butchered in composition and execution. I do at least enjoy T/T and Safe in New York. |
| 15 | | AC/DC Fly On The Wall
Back at end of 2010's this was my example of the shittiest AC/DC could get. Just terrible terrible stuff that I can hardly even remember outside of it being garbage... |
| 16 | | AC/DC Rock Or Bust
But then this stinker was released and only 2 of the tracks showed even any trace of promise. One I will almost never find a reason to ever revisit. |
