various digs, recent library additions, couple new releases, frequently playeds, ambient and electronic stuffs and other ablums that are comin' to the Zone with me
1Scorn
Gyral

been really lovin' this Scorn the past uh couple months I think... awesome transition release, where the project has moved totally out of the realm of metal and is lacking those elements that appeared on the first couple records, but before it moved into the hard and heavy dread techno 'dubstep' whatever the fuck style that the project later adopted and stuck with for many albums... probably prefer it to Evanescence which is more experimental electronic illbient stuff 'cus this one is much more focused... beat focused... very instrumental hip hop, trip-hop electronics moody broody dark atmospheres kinda remind me a bit of Akira Yamaoka beats you might find on a Silent Hill soundtrack guess this is still illbient too but I don't know the beats seem more prominent it just stands out and is clicking with me more I'll have to reevaluate Evanescence now and try and figure out why that one didn't as much... Gyral losing the vocals and being totally instrumental probably helped both are good!
2Prurient
Retaliation

"Some Pain Has to Be Endured" is ๐Ÿ–ค check it - peak atmospheric ambient drone electronic stuff!

my further commentary didn't go through the first time 'cus I'm a php noob I guess... wrote something about the awesome techno ambient vibes like I'm alone in complete isolation in the cockpit of some stealth death-dealer high in the stratosphere surrounded by my techno controls and wizardry or something which yeah I guess I stole that imagery from his Vatican Shadow release inspired by the SR-71 Blackbird but this had that vibe too could live in that track

probably one of the more accessible Prurient releases more leaning on the ambient/ambient techno soundscape and atmosphere side of things and less harsh noise... I don't know 'doom electronics' I guess is what he calls it
3Nmesh and t e l e p a t h ????????
ใƒญใ‚นใƒˆใ‚จใƒ‡ใƒณใธใฎใƒ‘ใ‚น

been spending more time with this pupper lately 'cus I recently rewatched Apocalpyse Now and this had a couple of prominent samples from that film

"When I was here, I wanted to be there... when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle"
4Robert Rich & Ian Boddy
Lithosphere

collab has been an awesome and very recent discovery stemming from digging further into the Robert Rich discog in past years
5Final
The First Millionth of a Second

JKB "New Species" feels like it could have come straight out of John Carpenter's The Thing awesome ambient dark ambient track
6David Lynch
The Big Dream

David Lynch doing his own stark trip-hop or whatever version of Bob Dylan's "Ballad of Hollis Brown" is my favorite moment here, but I dunno after letting Crazy Clown Time grow on me as a whole over the years while also getting a bit more familiar with David Lynch and his filmography, I liked this whole album right away when I finally got around to it a few months back
7Sie
Ruban D'Alpha

obscure uh like ambient techno downtempo trip-hop think some drum n bass elements (guess they're called breaks) pop up once or twice... fortunate to have discovered
8Function and Vatican Shadow
Games Have Rules

pretty cool ambient/ambient techno collab that I like a lot nice vibes
9DJ Krush
Meiso

cool feature with Black Thought and Malik B from The Roots on here need to check more DJ Krush catalogue, only have the first three albums so far
10Thievery Corporation

Outpost
16Techno Animal
Babylon Seeker

JKB
17Akira Yamaoka
Silent Hill 3

don't get me wrong the previous soundtracks each had tracks I love but think I really gotta deem this my fav of the bunch (need to get around to checking 4) there's a reason why every copy of this game when it originally released on PS2 included a second CD with the soundtrack (though pretty sure there are at least one or two really good tracks that didn't make it on there that I really need to get my hands on - KHInsider here I come)
18Jarboe
Alchemic
19Pale Sketcher
Golden Skin

JKB bit warmer and airier than your typical Broadrick stuff some very nice drum n bass tracks, some fat beats dub elements Justin likes those and I dunno other cool techno atmospheres
20Nine Inch Nails
Ghosts I-IV
21Lull
Moments
22Robert Rich
Vestiges
23Council Estate Electronics
MIRFIELD

JKB recent release guess this one's like uh ambient drone dub shit I don't know still digesting - love Arktika from this project though "Urals" is a god-tier (glacially paced) ambient-techno whatever the fuck track
24Exit Electronics
LEARN THE HARD WAY

JKB blown out speaker shredding harsh noisy abrasive techno stuff highly enjoyable
25JK FLESH
NO EXITS

JKB dread techno vibes pretty intense
26Dead Can Dance
Anastasis
27Final
3

JKB equivalent to SAW Vol. 2 very dense ambient drone soundscape experiments stuff but some beautiful moments if you have the patience
28Hong Kong Express
This

dope vaporbeats and stuff it's the guy that does 2 8 1 4 with t e l e p a t h
29Tropical Fuck Storm
Fairyland Codex

recent release from a month back and love this project so can't resist including even though its completely unfitting as a noise rock album... elements of punk/post-punk blues psychedelic (I see they typically seem to be classified art punk? okay... yes music is art)

maybe the overall most bleak and depressing release from them yet in some regards still has the apocalyptic dystopic cynical vibes and commentary as usual so misanthropes and pessimists should enjoy... I guess not completely devoid of 'light' or 'hope' "Stepping on a Rake" is ๐Ÿ–ค
30The Body and Big|Brave
Leaving None But Small Birds

even though The Body really don't be sounding nothing like The Body we all know and love here, this collab is still really good some of these songs are ๐Ÿ–ค
31Kurt Vile
Back to Moon Beach

checked this recently while waiting for the new classic love ep/collab to drop and thoroughly enjoyed, dumb that I hadn't gotten around to it... Tom Petty's gone... and I'm long gone
32Kurt Vile
classic love

"collab" with Luke Roberts (who I'm not really familiar with) just dropped I dunno like a week ago or something both versions of "classic love" are ๐Ÿ–ค and also really enjoy them on "hit of the highlife"
33Killing Joke
Almost Red

debut KJ that I overlooked for waayyy too long up until I dunno a year or so back I think great post-punk dub edgy cynical attitude
34Omni Trio
The Deepest Cut Vol. 1

old drum n bass stuff big ๐Ÿ–ค
35Deepchord
Functional Extraits 1

dub techno
36JK FLESH
Echo Chamber Music 01

JKB less intense JK FLESH more atmospheric dub techno
37Toby Driver
Nโ€‹.โ€‹Gโ€‹.โ€‹Hโ€‹.โ€‹4โ€‹.โ€‹M.

oh yeah and my curiosity is nagging me to check that new Kayo Dot after having listened to the one track they had dropped from it
38Bohren und der Club of Gore
Black Earth

currently playing

dark jazz... real dark... bleak slow rainy atmospheres guess its pretty noir how nice of shuffle to put this on for me
39Prurient
Rainbow Mirror

aanndd one more peak Zonecore to round it out, need to check the new one that just dropped where he once again recycles this artwork very dense and indigestible stuff though I guess
