Favorite/Notable Modern Thrash Pt. 2
Back with more thrash! Some wonderful users threw a couple recommendations my way on my previous list so I'll include those as well because they kick total ass. |
| 1 | | Corrossive The great beyond
Death/thrash that's absolutely chock-full of sick riffs. |
| 2 | | Warfield With The Old Breed
High-energy and ripping with nasty blackened vocals. |
| 3 | | GraveRipper Seasons Dreaming Death
"Divine Incantations" is a stellar track, love the chugging riffs throughout this album along with the blackened influences. |
| 4 | | Xenoblight Procreation
Technical, melt-your-face death/thrash with a couple cool atmospheric moments. |
| 5 | | Harlott Extinction
Classic, fast-paced, refreshing thrash that is meant to be blasted. |
| 6 | | The Crown Crown of Thorns
An old-school band that still rips after a decades-long career. "God-King" is a phenomenal track that I can put on repeat. |
| 7 | | Vampire With Primeval Force
Damn, that album art! Cool mix of black, thrash, and speed(?) metal that covers a range of tempos. |
| 8 | | Craven Idol The Shackles of Mammon
Love the vocals here, and the sharp, deadly riffing. |
| 9 | | Demiser Slave to the Scythe
More deadly blackened thrash that brings enough variety to suit basically anyone. |
| 10 | | Wraith (USA-IN) Undo The Chains
Kind of a mix of black/punk/thrash with very few frills to speak of. |
| 11 | | Drain (USA-CA) California Cursed
Thrash/core that romps, stomps, and opens the pit. |
| 12 | | Warbringer Wrath and Ruin
Probably one of the more well-known modern thrash groups around here, and for good reason. Absolutely slays. |
| 13 | | Daeva (USA-PA) Through Sheer Will And Black Magic…
Chaotic black/thrash that sounds absolutely evil at all times. |
| 14 | | Toxic Holocaust Chemistry of Consciousness
Extremely solid, classic-inspired thrash. |
| 15 | | Vexovoid Call of the Starforger
Is it basically just Vektor? Sure, but I'm sure as hell not gonna complain about that. "Prophet of the Void" is a freakishly good track. |
| 16 | | Condition Critical Extermination Plan
Nasty, fresh thrash that breathes new life into the old-school sound. They have a new album dropping soon and it sounds like it's going to rock. |
| 17 | | Noisem Cease To Exist
Grind/thrash that is just violent and headbangable as hell. |
| 18 | | Paranorm Empyrean
Proggy and technical. This will help scratch the Vektor itch but I wouldn't call them a copycat by any means. |
| 19 | | Miscreance Convergence
Another proggy, off-the-wall display of technical thrash. |
| 20 | | Enforced War Remains
Balls-to-the-wall, ripping thrash. |
| 21 | | Algebra Chiroptera
Weird, proggy stuff but with plenty of solid riffs. "Accomplice" is a killer track. |
| 22 | | Hellripper Warlocks Grim And Withered Hags
This album made some waves around here with little question as to why. Blackened thrash of the highest caliber. "The Cursed Carrion Crown" is evil as shit. |
| 23 | | Necromantic Forces Under The Threshold Of Consciousness
Recommended by @budgie, this absolutely rips. Tons of sick death/black/thrash riffing here. |
| 24 | | Integrity Howling, For the Nightmare Shall Consume
Another of a short list of old-school bands still putting out badass albums. |
| 25 | | Power Trip Manifest Decimation
RIP Riley Gailey. This album is a ripping masterpiece of the genre. |
| 26 | | Cryptosis Bionic Swarm
The follow-up to this album isn't really my bag, but this thrashes and brings the heat. |
| 27 | | Black Fast Terms of Surrender
Thrash with a blackened edge and a bit of rawness. Check "The Keep". |
| 28 | | Nuclear Tomb Terror Labyrinthian
Recommended by @ThyCrossAwaits. Raw, thrashy, and a bit on the weird side. |
| 29 | | Demoniac (CHL) So It Goes
Technical thrash with saxophone(?!). Definitely weird, but really badass. |
| 30 | | Hellix Montage
High-energy, technical thrash that is an absolute joy to listen to. |
| 31 | | Autonoesis Moon of Foul Magics
Long-form, blackened thrash that totally shreds. I love the faded out vocals too. |
| 32 | | Evil (JPN) Possessed by Evil
More blackened speed/thrash with wild vocals. |
| 33 | | Sacrifizer Le Diamant de Lucifer
Can you tell I went through a blackened thrash phase a couple of years ago? Another ripper. |
