| Famous Folks I've met
Famous to me at least. I will update this list the more people I meet. mostly in order. | | 1 | | American Football American Football
DANNY AMENDOLA - went to my middle school (like a decade before I did, obviously). Returned to our school in like 2013 to talk about the NFL. My dad is friends with his dad, Willie, to some degree, and we've met a few times more since. most recently 2019. | | 2 | | Slayer Christ Illusion
TOM ARAYA - "Met" him and his wife at his ranch in Buffalo, Texas in 2016. My goons just knocked on his front door, because hey why not? Not a very friendly interaction but gee, I wonder why. I posted about it on here at the time and nobody believed me. | | 3 | | Megadeth The System Has Failed
DAVE MUSTAINE - we followed his tour bus to a bar following a show in Houston in 2016-2017 and more or less just strolled up to asked for his autograph. he was a few drinks deep, which was surprising at the time because everyone thought he was a “reformed christian”, though it’s now widely known that he never gave up casual drinking. He was not amused with us, and gave us this face that read “dude…really?” but signed our autographs anyways and handed them to us without saying a single word. I was quite intimidated. | | 4 | | Saliva Moving Forward In Reverse: Greatest Hits
I've met this band several times. Their former drummer Paul Crosby was my band's manager at one point, circa 2020, when we were signed to his record label 434 Music. | | 5 | | Cryptopsy The Book of Suffering - Tome 1
MATT MCGACHY - we met after a cryptopsy show. He was very nice and had a lot of advice to give to me as a young aspiring artist. Peed in a stall next to Flo Mournier and he didn't say a word to me but what doth thou expecteth. | | 6 | | Simone Forte Al di là
SIMONE BILES - we are from the same suburb of Houston. She was zoned to my high school but was homeschooled instead. She’s friendly | | 7 | | Van Halen Women And Children First
RICHARD LINKLATER - went to the same college I was going to at the time, returned to speak to the student body and individual film students one-on-one. Very nice guy. | | 8 | | Grimes Go ft. Blood Diamonds (Non-Album Single)
QUENTIN GRIMES - We went to the same high school. | | 9 | | This Dog Don't Hunt Soul Shakin'
MICHAEL VICK - We met at a special event in Houston, maybe 2018? He was the life of the party.
Edit: It was 2017. https://www.click2houston.com/news/2017/02/02/wounded-warriors-participate-in-charity-flag-football-game/ | | 10 | | Propaganda Network Antievolution
DINESH D'SOUZA - this is a weird one, but I used to work in Montana and he came into my job. Apparently he has a summer house in Montana or something. he was technically nice I guess. If you don't know who this is, do yourself a favor and don't look him up. | | 11 | | Demolition Hammer Epidemic of Violence
the band jumped my car’s battery with their band van after a venue in Austin, Texas. One of the coolest moments of my life. Steve Reynolds is much nicer than his music. | | 12 | | David Ellefson Sleeping Giants
DAVID ELLEFSON - I was in a group chat with him and my then-band was supposed to support his solo band for a few shows (because of reasons discussed in 4). so yeah maybe this doesn't count, but at the time it was such a flex. "DUUUDE I'M IN A GROUP CHAT WITH JUNIOR!" late 2020. those shows never happened because of covid btw. | | 13 | | Crowbar Broken Glass
KIRK WINDSTEIN - Met after a crowbar concert. We talked for quite a while. Extremely friendly, as is his wife. | | 14 | | Pantera Far Beyond Driven
PHIL ANSELMO - Met in the green room after a concert, 2022. Let's say he's not beating any allegations lmao. | | 15 | | Atheist Unquestionable Presence
KELLY SHAEFER - met at a cynic / atheist show in Dallas. He is super chill. | | 16 | | Cynic Ascension Codes
PAUL MASVIDAL - met him after a cynic / atheist show in Dallas. He let my guitarist, Gavin, noodle on his electric guitar (though it was not plugged in). We met a second time at a Trader Joe’s in Los Angeles. Very nice guy. | | 17 | | Death Leprosy
TERRY BUTLER & BILL ANDREWS - we saw their band Inhuman Condition when they came to OKC. Only 10 people were in the audience so we were able to get drinks with them. Neither seemed like they wanted to be there, but they were friendly and told us funny stories about Chuck Schuldiner and Kam Lee. | | 18 | | Thunder Shooting at the Sun
JOSH GIDDEY - filmed him for an interview about the OKC Thunder. Complete dickwad, and this was before his allegations came out too. When they dropped, basically nobody had his back because of his ego. | | 19 | | Power Rangers Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Album: A Rock Adv
JUSTIN NIMMO (The Silver Ranger) - dated his daughter for two years. Met some other power rangers along the way but idk who. | | 20 | | The Flaming Lips King's Mouth
WAYNE COYNE - You straight up would not believe me lmao | | 21 | | Spike Fuck The Smackwave EP
SPIKE LEE & his brother CINQUE LEE - we met at a film festival. I was a bit intimidated by Spike but they were actually rather friendly people. Cinque especially stuck around to talk a bit. | | 22 | | The Three Tremors Guardians of the Void
MICHAEL GROSS - spoke over the phone with his manager about a film deal. So, maybe I haven’t met him, but we’ve acknowledged each other’s existence. | |

06.29.25 | The world is a small place. Cool stuff man, my most similar experience is merely going to the same school as Kuba Badach did (my contemporaries aren't famous yet). | brickhed
06.29.25 | watch me dox you by finding the same high school that grimes went to and looking in the yearbook
also pounding on tom araya's front door is pretty funny honestly | zakalwe
06.29.25 | This is going to mean nothing to the majority of people outside the UK and for those that do know what I’m talking about believe me or not but I once had a long old chat with Ross Kemp at a pub in Brighton around 2003/2004. He bought me drinks and genuinely seemed to enjoy my company to the point where I started to join the dots and thought hold on a sec, it’s Brighton, you’re on your own and I’ve found myself taken away from my mates while your getting the beers in and I’ve been speaking to you for about an hour.
🤔
Lovely bloke. | anode
06.29.25 | Idk what’s wrong with me by every time you said someone’s friendly I assume you fucked them | RVAHC13
06.29.25 | I used to work at a convention center so I’ve met several tv/movie actors, wrestlers, comic book artists, voice actors etc. Some of my favorite interactions were Gilbert Gottfried, Alice Cooper, the entire cast of Clerks, Billy West and many others I can’t remember. I ran into Nardwuar while walking around Vancouver, BC who was one of the nicest people I’ve met abroad. I’ve met several musicians at clubs like Ian MacKaye, Jack Grisham, Doug Martsch, Shonen Knife, Kelly Shaefer, Denis Belanger, bunch others. Billy and Gilbert were the only two I got choked up by. | budgie

06.30.25 | He kept referring to my korean bassist as “squid games” and “jackie chan” and went on a drunken rant about how asians dont make good metal musicians. He said he’d never hire an asian for his band because it “just don’t look right yknow??”. He was also sieg heiling and goose stepping in the mosh pit | budgie
06.30.25 | "He kept referring to my korean bassist as “squid games”
LOL. | BookoftheFallen
06.30.25 | I got an email from the prince of nigeria, does that count? | Titan
06.30.25 | cool list | Aerisavion
06.30.25 | I have a few, mostly smaller "famous" people:
Warwick Davis - met him around early 2010s at a convention. Also met his wife, who was really nice. Spoke to her for about twenty minutes (she was handling merch sales) and him for around five.
I also "sort of" met Andrew Rothenberg and Jeffrey DeMunn at the same convention, but my buddy was doing all the talking as he'd paid for Q&A.
James Woodruff (Hawthorne Heights vocalist) - met him after a really small show (there were barely 50 people in the room, I shit you not) in my hometown a year or so before pandemic hit. Really nice guy, seemed to still appreciate those who came to see the show even though it was a tiny gathering of people.
Taylor Jardine (We Are The In Crowd vocalist) - met her outside a WATIC show while I was hanging with this girl who was also in a pop punk band. Talked for a couple of minutes and then other fans quickly clocked she was there, so she got swarmed after that.
Johnny Famigliett & B.J. Miller (Health bassist and drummer) - met BJ in the crowd after the show and grabbed a photo, really chill guy. Met Johnny in a club after and talked for about 5 seconds before he had to go elsewhere with some security guys (he was doing a DJ thing at the same club that night).
Ryan Key (Yellowcard vocalist) - met him after one of his solo shows in London. Nice guy, pretty quiet and polite but was happy to take a photo and sign the ticket.
Camille Contreras (Novelists vocalist) - met her after a show, talked for a couple of minutes and she sold my wife a Novelists branded candle. Nice girl. | RVAHC13
06.30.25 | @TheSonomaDude
I thought you said Kirk called your friend squid games lol | TheSonomaDude
06.30.25 | No no it was phil. Kirk is extremely wholesome from what i gather | RVAHC13
06.30.25 | Okay good, I don’t want to think Kirk is a jerk. I like Phil and his music but I fully understand why saying so elicits negative reactions from my friends. | AlexKzillion
07.01.25 | this is a hilariously impressive list of people lmao
i met marcus allen at like 14yo at a meet and greet sort of thing. i took off one of my shoes and asked if he could sign it. dude did not find that amusing lmao and my shoe was not signed. | Deez
07.02.25 | He kept referring to my korean bassist as “squid games” and “jackie chan” and went on a drunken rant about how asians dont make good metal musicians. He said he’d never hire an asian for his band because it “just don’t look right yknow??”. He was also sieg heiling and goose stepping in the mosh pit'
Fks sake. I met him in like 94 , all of them were really nice, dime and vin especially. Shame what happened/true colours came out with Phil, only meant white wine though eh? : /
Met absolutely everyone over the years. who were influential in my life, Some big but mostly smaller, Was a bad groupie when I was young. Didnt suck anyones dong but hung out for hours for signed shit. Faves Probably Patton/Mike Tyson. Love Patton but right grumpy bastard (as advertised tbh) Became good friends with influential (to me)bands that Ive met that I now hang out with when we do see each other. Scott Kelly took a bad turn obviously, Amenra boys are close. Last one I met/hung with was probably Dave French from Yob who was an great guy. Oh probably Pablo Escobars brother on that tour in Medallin (his nephew too) dunno if that counts. Luc from gorguts desrves a shout too. Sweet heart |
